More info on the ammo would be helpful... That looks like a xtp bullet sitting there, I can't think of a chinese manufacturer that loads xtps.\

Being it is an xtp, a highly popular bullet for reloaders, im going to lean towards a handloading issue. I could be way off but most of the time this is the case.

Again with this picture.

This picture is old, it has been passed around quite a bit and the ammo has been called Chinese, reloads, comercial ammo, and just about everything else.

Be weary of cheap ammo loaded by shady characters, but me more weary of pictures sent to your email.

Can you even buy Chinese ammo in the U.S. anymore? I don't believe so... This is just more xenophobic propaganda.

Back in the 90's I shot many thousands of rounds of Chinese Ammo and while some of it was lacking in the accuracy department, I never had a "kaboom". While I respect those who want to "buy American" I find a lot of the sentiment against Russian and Chinese ammo has to do with ethnic and ideological factors.

"BUY A COLT!

(I had to... could not help it, lack of self restraint.) "

HAAA.... Its sure to go out of timeing long before it has a Kaboom:neener:

And to the OP yeah the pic has been floating around for a long while with many different claims

Old pics, old story, among other stories. All we really know is someone blew up a gun. How? Anybodies guess.

Looks like something my jack-wagon uncle would get after years of shooting compressed loads in his guns for the effect. The only good thing I can say about his habit was that he wouldn't let anyone else shoot nor would he sell or trade these fatigued pistols.

I know he's destroyed his share of Rugers and Colts in that way and with the "luck of the idiot", lives/shoots and reloads still.

Chinese ammo hasn't been imported for what, at least a decade? If anything, you shouldn't shoot it since it's semi-collectible.

As far as I know, they only produced standard military calibers with ball loads and not magnum handgun JHP's.

Wouldnt mind betting some one with a progressive loader dropped either a double charge of powder, or more likely had two bullets crammed in the case and REALLY compressed the powder. Thats is the most likely scenario, to get to the type of pressures in the pictures. It was probably a reload. Yes seen the photos before and expect to see them again many times LOL
Night night all

The pics might be old, but it still makes me shiver.

As John Wayne said in "Big Jake", "This ostentatious display might save some poor miscreant's life - maybe our own."

Seems like the revolver did its job. When it failed it vented in a safe direction and protected the shooter.

Like any well designed firearm should.
