i Was looking around a gun shop with my buddy and felt a few of them
the hk45 feels better than my glock 19 in hand if it can handle 45super why not make a 10mm
i think it would sell like hot cakes every 10mm guy and hk guy would want one

No 10mm gun will sell like hot cakes, none ever has. Too much recoil, too much cost for ammunition. The 10mm will always be a niche round.

10mm

Plenty of 10mm models, Colt, Glock, Dan Wesson, Fusion.

As far as recoil goes, not an issue.

The price of just about every factory ammunition has gone up dramatically over the past few years.

10mm is overall excellent pistol round. It's terminal ballistics exceed most popular handgun calibers. Great CCW & hunting round for deer sized animals with proper bullet selection.

If H&K were to come out with a 10mm, THAT handgun would sell like hotcakes without a doubt.

I'm guessing you don't have a 10mm.

It is a bit of a niche round but it is gaining fast in popularity. It is THE handloaders auto round. You can get recoil and power much lighter than .40 or as heavy as .41mag. It is very versatile. Factory loads are usually watered down and generally have less recoil than a .40; they cost about as much as any other similar load as well. Have you even fired one?

I have a G20, G29 and a 1006. Those are my 3 favorite pistols. I suppose if HK came out with one, I'd get it. Good thing is nobody really makes a junk 10mm pistol, the EAA Witness is the cheapest one and it isn't all that bad looking. If these companies can come out with crap like the Judge and the Chainsaw, I think they could easily sell a 10mm HK.

Problem is that most platforms that do best in 10mm were designed AS a 10mm. Sometimes issues arise when trying to use the 1911 platform, it can't always handle the high power loads the 1006 can --some folks have pushed 180gr. bullets over 1450fps! Simple thing is, it wasn't made for that high of a pressure, high power load (it is my personal theory of why factory 10mm ammo is watered down --so it won't destroy 1911 10mm's). So you can take a 10mm and turn one into a .45 pretty easily and have an overbuilt .45 (the 4506 for example, G21 I think) but it isn't always so easy to take a .45 and turn it into a 10mm.

I'm a big fan of 10mm, but I think Newton is right. Glock makes two great 10mms, but I'm shocked if they sell more 10s than .357 Sigs...or .45 GAPs!

Still, some companies (S&W is famous for this) will make small runs--available for one catalog year--of some specialty pistol, and then it's gone. And I do think H&K could have enough business on a 10 to make it worthwhile.

But they won't. LE won't buy it, and, well, it's already been stated how they feel about the rest of us. You got it, dcarch.

I guess we can still hope that S&W will eventually have a small run of 10mm M&Ps!

1 ive owened 2 glock 20's (shot double tap though them)
2 the hk45 feels great in hand
3 underwood ammo 28$ for 50 hollow points maybe a bit more (and there fps is accurate)
4 10mm isnt going anywhere
5 the hk45 feels right
6 im a 9mm guy does the 10mm really give you much more?

357 mag is one one they most common revolver rounds today hot 10mm's barely beat it and the semi action eats a bit of the recoil the 10mm isnt crazy

and stryker the large frame glock was first made for ten mm then 45 you seem attacked but i see that you like the 2squared+6 mm
im modern im metric but currently 3 squared mm

ps for the 41mag lovers my local gun shop has the 4 inch revolver scandium barely used (like it looks new ) for 599$ the S&w pd ill tell anyone interested where

I'd like to believe that the 10mm is gaining quickly in popularity, but absent any figures to that effect from gun makers and ammo manufacturers, I don't buy it.

Fact is, in order to have the kind of power that is the one distinct advantage of the 10mm, there must be recoil at a level beyond what the majority of customers are willing to put up with; add to that the size problem that double-stack 10mm magazines pose for some people (this is why .40 S&W exists, after all), and you have a product that can be marketed to discerning and proficient shooters who'll only provide enough of a consumer base to keep the 10mm market alive, but with few choices.

oal is the same as 45acp so same frame im a glock guy but im gonna get a p30l
its perfect fit to the hand but the trigger feels cheap

It's always been a wonder to me why the 10mm isn't wildly popular. I don't own one so I guess I'm not helping but I loved the ones I've shot, a Dan Wesson and a G29. As said above, the 10mm is THE hand loaders round and the day I start hand loading I'll buy a one.

I never noticed the Glock angle to be honest. Other pistols I've owned and used were by S&W, CZ, HK, and FN.

Maybe my hands are too loosey goosey.

hey im with you ive dropped all pistols but the glock 19
and its perfectly functional but i held a hk p30 (think warm wax formed to your hand) and the hk45 a bit more of that wax
9mm vs 45acp dont know but hot 10mm's are a step up
just sayin

I've seen HK's converted to 10mm, at great expense and several trips to the 'smith, but I tell ya what. I'd buy one! Just went to the range with my 10mm Stock II today to test some new parts.
Outside of the eyebrows you get when firing, the bullet simply goes (fast!) where you point it. Stupid accurate, and in an all steel pistol, recoil is a non-issue. Granted, any modern HK will have a tupperware receiver, but I see more smaller loaders cranking out 10mm than in the last few years and its making a comeback at the gun shows. These same loaders also seem to have 'component shortage' issues, as .40 seems to take loading precedence :fire:

Long story short, I agree its a niche round to some extent, but it will always have a place in my 'tool cabinet'.

10mm and .41 magnum seem to go hand in hand. If you reload, they offer a veritable smorgasbord of options. If you don't, keep on walking, there's other calibers for you.

As for .357 keeping up with 10mm, sorry, not a chance. Not even buffalo bore's HEAVY .357 touches real 10mm. I think .41 mag has the edge (if nothing else but for the heavier bullet options out there) over 10mm but it's so close as to not be worth arguing.

A 10mm CZ 97 is what I would lust after personally (don't point at the tangfolio/eaa's, real cz 97 frame)

Huh?! No way dude, .41 magnum is way more powerful in handloads. For example, the Hodgdon reloading manual says a 245 gr. lead semi-wadcutter over the starting load of 18.5 grains of H110 will travel at 1,372 feet per second and 1,000 ft. lbs. of kinetic energy; at the maximum charge of 21.0 grains, it'll clock 1,563 feet per second and 1,329 ft. lbs. of kinetic energy. Even the craziest Buffalo Bore 10mm loads don't break 750 ft. lbs., and reloading manuals don't seem to get past 700 ft. lbs.
