ive had my cz75 for a couple years now. its has never malfunctioned once and feeds anything flawlessly. the only thing it needs is a trigger job; but for that ill have to mail it to cz custom in arizona...total cost for work, shipping, everything prob $200-250 plus the hassle of dealing with sending it thru the mail, waiting, etc..
my other gun is a glock 26...so im kind of thinking if i just get a g17 then id have mag compatability, cheap and easy to find mags/parts/accessories, a gun just as reliable, already has a good trigger and could be worked on locally for cheap if need be, and it would be new.

what would you guys recommend? i like that the cz is proven dead reliable, can easily eat +p+ ammo, and is very accurate long range, and with work would have an amazing trigger...but i also like that the glock would be new, already have a good trigger, have cheap available mags and holsters, and could use its mags in my g26

Keep the CZ. Either install some of the drop in parts from Schmecky yourself or send the gun to him. He should be along shortly, and you can get pricing from him to validate.

While the logic in choosing that particular Block is sound, I'd keep the CZ (if only to not be one of those "I never shoulda" whiners) and save for the Glock.

I also must agree with the previous responders. You'll regret it if you get rid of it. Glock 17s aren't exactly rare, so take the time to save up, so you can have both :)

The hump is not the same. On most folks, the shorter grip of the 26 allows the hump to nestle into the hollow of the palm. The longer 19 doesn't do that.

I never cared for the CZ and sold mine without thinking twice about it. No regrets at all.

Instead of the 17, I'd get the G-34 in a heartbeat.

I would keep the CZ, the trigger on this gun with some work is no where near what the glock trigger can ever be. Also like others said shoot a email to CGW hes priced very well and you won't be disappointed.

NO! I went the other way a couple years back and dumped the glock 17 in favor of a cz pattern gun with a decent trigger. I guess you don't mind the glock trigger if you have a 26, but striker guns just never did it for me. The glock will kick a little more with the lighter weight, but it's durable and maintenance free.

One thing to keep in mind, the 26 has a much shorter grip than the 17. I find the abnormal Glock grip angle really gets pronounced on the longer grip models, and it throws my shots off in competition.

A decent trigger job on the CZ won't cost $200. Heck, follow some instructions and replace the hammer yourself.

I agree that the triggers on CZs tend to suck - at least on the ones I have shot, including my Son's SP01 with about 2000 rounds through it, and new ones I have dry fired.

Sell/trade your CZ and get that Glock 17 if that is what you want to do and it sounds to me that you have used very sound rationalization to justify that.

If you want a nice DA/SA pistol with a great trigger out of the box get a SIG. You can get a SP2022 for around $400 and there are LOTS of nice used and CPO SIGs in the $500 - $600 range.

I would make the trade. I've had several CZ-pattern pistols, and I could never keep them running reliably.

"CZ pattern..." Meaning clones?

Otherwise, wow - you gotta be in the nexus of malfunctions and even Glocks must be gettin' the whammy there.

thing is is its the 'omega' version so apparently its a bit different than the standard model; all the info and parts out there for trigger jobs for the standard 75b model wont work. cant install the comp hammer, or the flat trigger.

so where can i get this $68 trigger job Schmeky?
