What's YOUR most prized handgun?

Oh, this is just too painful. First we see a "Your Top Three Guns" thread, then someone posts a "Top Two to Bug Out With" and now we have a "Your One Best Favourite"..... THis is just way too cruel.

As someone that has favourites in a lot of different directions I just cannot in any manner see a thread of this title making any sense at all.

Now if someone posted "Your Favourite Handgun In Each Of The Following Categories" then I could get on board.

The list would look something like;

  • Center Fire Top Semi
  • Center Fire Top Double Action Revolver
  • Center Fire Top Single Action Revolver
  • Rimfire Top Semi
  • Rimfire Top Double Action Revolver
  • Rimfire Top Single Action Revolver
  • Black Powder C&B Top Revolver

Anything less is just too cruel and limiting... :D

And yes, I could easily fill each category and I would have to actually choose for each but one.

Little Sig 238 not cheap

My favorite are a pair. These two were shipped to the Oshman's Sporting Goods Store in Houston back in '59. I figured some Texan wanted some BBQ guns and ordered these.

The front one is a S&W .357 Mag, factory Pinto and Class A+ engraved by Seigfreid Rentschke, the back one is a S&W M29 .44 Mag, factory Pinto, Class A+ engraved by Russ Smith. And hell no I haven't shot them. You don't know my luck.

Wow!!!

Most prized? Hmmmm.....

My Colt 1991A1 Compact. First firearm as it was my dad's until he gave it to me on my 16th birthday.

My HK P7 would be a close second as I had been looking for one for about 8 years and finally cam across one for sale within my budget about 10 months ago. Hard chromed variant with walnut grips for $750.

In all fairness, I don't think (?) I can answer your question correctly~! :uhoh: You see, there is the Les Baer TRS .45ACP, the 3.5" S&W model 27-2 w/ 3T's
and in UNFIRED condition [with all tools/accessories/mahogany case, etc.], the 2" factory nickel 1971 Colt Detective Special, the all original S&W 39-2 with
box and doc's in UNFIRED condition, the original factory nickel S&W model 19-3 [fired 37 times with very light semi-wadcutter ammo] but in box, with box,
docs, and all paperwork; then there is my High Standard "Victor" model with a 5.5" barrel in 'bout 90% condition (no box or doc's), and a later model BHP
with deep blue finish [with fully adjustable sights]~!

PS: I have many more, but these rate as my favorites~! ;)

All, are well SECURED and PROTECT my home, wife, children, and grandchild;
along with 2 of the meanest dogs, and alarm system in the Southeast United
States Of Free America~! :D

Please remember our veterans~! Those who have walked the walk, and talked the talk~! Those from all wars, whose branch of service they so proudly wear on their sleeve. Those that have gone before, those that lives are in harms way today, and those that will go in the future~! Ladies and gentlemen, "Thank You All"
from the bottom of my heart. When you go too bed tonight,Thank the GOOD LORD,that he shed is grace on thee~!

Some very beautiful firearms on here guys!!

My most prized would be two of them, my 6" Python, first quality firearm I ever bought, and the H&R 999 .22 revolver my Pop left me. Then if the fire ain't too fierce, I'll go get both Savage '99's out of the safe! Insurance is good, but those two Savage rifles are irreplaceable!

My most prized as in valuable gun far and away is now the North American Arms Ranger Breaktop 22 magnum. They have been going for $3,000+ on recent auctions.

Maybe one of these-

1954 Highway Patrolman my dad gave me recently

Mid '70's Model 14 (like it better than my '59 Model 14 no dash!)

Late '40's pre-model 10 w/2" bbl

Minty late '60's Model 36

Late '60's Hi Standard M101 (low budget, but wonderful.)

At this time, my most Prized Gun would be my Second Generation 1957 7 1/2" Colt SAA. I bought it on consignment from a collector who never fired it. I used it along with another Colt SAA for SAS competition. I have since sold the other Colt but just can't seem to part with my Second Generation Colt.

I won't bother you with a pic of my boring ole glock 27. I have revolvers and 1911's that are much more attractive. But when I was pinching my pennies to buy my first gun, and finally saved enough I bought the ole baby brick. I was newly wed at the time and thats the gun I chose to hold down the fort with. I've aquired many since then, but none more special because you only get to buy your first handgun once.

My P226 with night sights and an SRT would hurt more financially to replace, but the S&W pre-lock 67 was my first gun and would be the one I would grab.
