This data is a few years old but came off the accurate website around 2003. It has data for their 1680 powder in the .223 Remington.

Reason being, I have a LOT of AA#1680, and not so much of the other powders, and not a lot of spendable cash to go ordering, (oh, my aching haz-mat charges!!), more powders.
Steve, thanks, that's a good beginning. Now they revamped all their info last year due to new testing, wonder if I should start a wee bit lower than the listed start value.

Accurate got back to me, and said it really wasn't a combination they reccomend, BUT, a starting load for a 55 grain would be approx 17.9 grains, MAX at 21 grains with a 24 inch barrel. First test loads will be made up today.

I would consider using some lighter weight bullets with that fast powder, if you have some, they can only help keep pressure spikes down a bit. 40-50gr bullets are often quite accurate, even out of fast twist AR's, if that's what you're using.

I agree, you might want to use lighter bullets.

Accurate says:
Accurate 1680 is an extremely fast burning, double-base, spherical rifle powder that is well suited for large capacity, high performance handgun cartridges such as the 454 Casull, 460 S&W and 500 S&W. 1680 is also an excellent choice for the 22 Hornet and 7.62 x 39, as well as other low capacity rifle cartridges. Made in the USA.
You might want to use that powder for what they recommend or possibly trade some off for a powder more suited for the .223 like AA2230. (or H335, RL-10x or TAC if you don't mind changing companies)

There is nobody local to buy or trade from, everything must be shipped in. I have what I have, and am making do as best as I can. :)
