I have the American Gunsmithing Inststiute's AR 15 Trigger Job Video. I have followed the instructions on the video and ground down the forward nub on the disconnector switch (MAKING SURE to keep the trigger POSITIVE). My question is - is surface hardening necessary for the ground disconnecter?

Please refer to picture below:

The above picture indicates where I filed down and the area I am wondering if needs to be surface hardened.
Thanks!

When I bought my JP trigger kit, I found out that I needed to fit the disconnector by doing a little filing on the front "nub". There was no mention in the instructions about hardening the filed piece. I definitely wouldn't do any grinding or filing on the hammer/sear engagement area.

Thanks Hentown! That is what I was thinking but they did not mention it. I did not touch the hammer/sear engagement. Thanks!
