I like the .45 ACP cartridge. Lots of fun, easy to see in a brass bucket, easy to check powder level when reloading.

Anyhow, I'm looking for a .45 ACP shoulder fired gun, be it carbine or rifle. Not interested in the conversion kits. I want a dedicated shoulder fired weapon. Thompson is too pricey.

Marlin formerly made a Camp 45 carbine which I understand has been discontinued. Cruising the auction sites I find very few for sale. I see mags and stocks for sale but no projectile launcher.

Any ideas out there? Does anyone have a good friend as Marlin's president? I'd be willing to purchase 2 if they ran production. The weapon was either a pig that literally no one purchased or it was too difficult to mfg but became a classic.

There are very few on the market because the demand for a non tactical .45ACP is quite low. HK is have some sucess but you're gonna pay alot.

The Marlin Camp .45 was not a real sucess and if the demand was there Ruger would have made a .45 version of their PC-9.............I don't remember ever seeing one.

Assuming the width demensions are the same.......any good gunsmith should be able to convert a .45 Long Colt lever carbine for you. It would hold alot of rounds!
 
HK and Hi-Point

HK makes a USC-45 - it runs about $1200 - it's nice but pricey...

I also talked to Hi-Point (I know the handguns are literal bricks), they have a 9mm Carbine, and they told me this year they will be releasing a .45 ACP Carbine - no word on when or what it will look like though - just was told this year.

We sell quite a few of the 9mm Carbine at the gun department, no one has had any problem with them with either function or accuracy. Been told they are quite accurate actually.

So if you can wait - see what the Hi-Point .45 Carbine will look like and see if you like it.
 
Keep an eye out, I got a Camp Carbine from an amigo of mine who had it set up with a red dot, he liked it, but wanted to get into something else, and I wanted out of it, and into a Camp Carbine, since my primary carry is a 1911.

Super little gun, but it does need a plastic stock to be: "tactical"

Hey, what is this USC-45? I've never heared of on of them there things.

If something is really well made and functional, I don' t mind paying a little more, or maybe even a lot more if it's very nice.

What's it look like?
 
I keep thinking about ....

a Marlin lever gun in 45 ACP.
16.5 inch barrel, straight grip, express sights.

But it would be a very specific piece. Not as much power as a 44 Magnun, probably less than a .357 Mag. It's only reason for being would be a companion piece to a 45 pistol or revolver.

Economically, never happen.
 
Well, I hate it when some replies to a question with another option but factory 45ACP ammo isn't going to benefit much from the added barrel length. If I wasn't trying to get a carbine in the same caliber as my favorite handguns, I'd probably just get a 9mm carbine. Super cheap to shoot FMJ at paper and at consistantly high velocities, the best hollow-point should prove to be very effective on man-sized targets if need be.
 
Isn't Kel-tec kicking the Sub-2000 out in .45 now? I know it's out in .40 short & wimpy, local shop had several for about a day before they were bought.
 
Sub-2000 isn't out in .45 yet.

I wish it was though - that would be nice, could use the Glock or Para double stack mags.......:D
 
BERETTA Cx4 STORM will be in .45

The new BERETTA carbine, the Cx4 STORM will be avialible in 9mm,.40cal, and .45acp[!]. It will use standard BERETTA pistol mags......so we are told, so I assume that means COUGAR mags for the .45.

I am sick unto death of all the "tactical" bravo-sierra (sorry Skunk). Just gimme a .45 ACP carbine on a traditional wooden stock. I love simplicity and functionality. I don't like paying for fads and fashions. Besides, all that molded plastic is expensive.
 
.45 Enfield?

Hey, Chris....that may be the most interesting Enfield I've seen. Where'd you find it?
 
I knew a guy in East Texas, Jim Barr with Kickapoo Gun Shop, who made a really, really nice suppressed Marlin Camp Carbine for the East Texas Drug Task Force. Got to see him shoot it when I was there one day. Very nice little thumper. It was exceptionally quiet with FMJ's and thwacked the target butt
mightily. I should have gone ahead and bought one that day.

I was at a gun show in Lebanon, PA this past weekend and saw a Marlin Camp Carbine in 45 ACP. It was N.I.B. and was selling for about $350. I was tempted but really didn't have the available cash.

I have also heard rumors of a Hi-Point carbine in 45 for more than a year now, but I'd prefer a Kel Tec Sub-2000 in 45 than either the Marlin or the Hi-Point. Don't think Kel Tec will make a .45 this year but there's still hope Hi-Point will announce one at the Shot Show in a few weeks.

Being a fan of the Enfield rifles, the 45 ACP and thinking that supressed rifles are really cool in general, that DeLisle is certainly right up my alley.
