Just took the latest addition of my "kids" to the range yesterday!

Got a new Winchester Model 70 "Coyote Light" in .243-WOW, very cool toy!

Chose it because the Model 70 Sporter (.270) has been my favorite bolt action and I wanted something different from my other rifles-this 1 defintitely fits the bill.

"Medium/Heavy" fluted stainless barrel, great trigger (for it's intended purposes, which is hunting 1st, range toy 2nd), very accurate, "light" for what it is, Unique Bell & Carlson stock (awesome stock), good for both hunting AND the range.....

Fired 29 rounds yesterday, and funny thing is, it was the easiest barrel to clean of any of my rifles....not sure why that is, but I LIKEE!

my next door neighbor has a M70 featherweight in .284 Winchester, that rifle is dead accurate and in no way punishing in the recoil dept.
I shot a M70 featherweight in 30-06 several years ago, that was seriously punishing, but I'm a wimp.
So there ya go!

Recoil is mostly between the ears. If we think something is going to kick hard, then it will. While Winchester calls one of their models a Feathereight, it is about the same weight (often much heavier) as every one else's standard weight rifle.

IMHO, Winchester is buiding the best rifle for the money right now, I'm VERY pleased with all of mine.

Agreed-I have several different brands of rifles, and like every one of them, but the Winnie's are my favorite!

Here's a pic of my .270 Sporter:
