Whats your preferred shape in cast 9mm and .40 cal ?

Little bit of research action here :)

Step up and be heard !

re 9mm: Cast I don't do, 'but shapes' I do have preferences.
I prefer long rifling contact. Some HP, and HB bullets do have longer bodies and shoot better for me.
I have a short-chambered pistol, so I'm NOT fond of some/many conical nose bullets. I and my pistol prefer a traditional ogive.

Truncated cone.

Feeds perfectly every time in my M&P 40 and has a nice wide metplat for instances where it may be needed.

This could be argued. You are likely to have on hand/loaded what you send to steel or paper when the time comes to plink a critter or so.

in 9mm i have been loading LRN and in my .40 i use a SWC. never had a problem with either.

Don't have a 40, but I really like the MBC 200gn RNFP for my 45. Just bought most of the stuff to start casting and the first one I am going to try is the Lee 358 125gn RNFP. I bought a 357 sizer as I keep reading that oversize bullets work really well. I plan to use them in a 38 Super.

I prefer this:

173gr swc makes for a really low recoil 9mm round when mixed with a fast powder. But it's not for the faint of heart as there's not much room for error.
