Not sure if anyone has any pistols specifically set up for long range or not. Whether you have a dedicated long range pistol or just play around with whatever's on hand, let's see some pics of what you like to use and explain what ranges you've tried.

A couple years ago I used my Glock 22 to shoot a silouette target at 75-85 yards. I think I only tried 10 rounds and hit the target 5-7 times. I want to get back into the longer distance game again, though lately I've been having trouble at the 25 yard range. The last couple years I've been spending my ammo budget building my rifle ammo stock and not spending enough time or money on practicing handguns. I just bought a Lone Wolf barrel and 1000 rounds of 9mm for my G22.

Here it is, a S&W 686-5 International DX with Bushnell Elite 3200.

I usually shoot it at 110 meters (that just happens to be the length of the range) and can hit cans and clay pidgeons easily.

Edit:
Ooops, I just noticed that I posted a revolver in an autoloader section, sorry...

I'm pretty proficient with all my Glocks @ 100 yds. I generally shoot @ 100 yds on every range visit. Was hitting some pretty small targets with my G17 yesterday. Don't have any trouble @ 100 with my G29 or G26, either. AAMOF, I do pretty well with my Colt Woodsman at 100 yds.

Wichita Silhouette pistol in 7mm Rimmed. I have a 5X Burris scope for it that isn't mounted right now.

This gun will shoot 4-5" groups at 200 meters with the right ammo.

Very nice guys.

I just noticed that I posted a revolver in an autoloader section, sorry

No need for appology. I've played around with my GP100 at 50-100 yards and I've been wanting to get a pic of it up, but my camera is currently tied up taking a stop-motion video of a puzzle my wife is putting together :).

Japle, I've never seen a pistol like that. I rather like it. I'll have to look those up.

OK, got the scope back on the Wichita.

I'll try to get it to the range and play this weekend.

I don't shoot this gun nearly enough!

BTW, I replaced the trigger return spring with one from a ball-point pen. The pull measures 7 oz.

Great pics guys. Now let's see some Glock 34/35's, USP Experts, 1911s, and other guns with regular pistol sights!!!

I used this custom Caspian multi-caliber 1911 with the 9mm slide/barrel installed to shoot a groundhog at 89 yards with open sights. I even had a witness! Bullet was a 124gr Golden Saber. I had the same barrel/slide on another 1911 frame that had a Leupold 2X EER mounted to the frame with a left side grip mount, and made a seated two hand shot at 159 yards on another groundhog, but it took a few days and a few sighting shots to get it all right. Once I had the scope sighted, it got real easy. :D

A stock g-19 works fairly well @ 300 yds with WWB wal-mart ammo. I've shot the ex's a fair bit at the 18" plate. 3-4 hits per 10 rd mag were about par when I was doing it regularly. One handed. I managed one hit in 10 at the 24" 600 plate with a spotter. I was cheating, using two hands and kneeling. That was the only time I tried that distance.

Smith 4" 29 works fairly well also with medium loads, as does the Smith K-22 and the Ruger 45 Blackhawk. Most guns shoot better at distance than most folks realize. Can't say I'm a fan of the 1911 for distance. The drop seems to be a serious issue past about 200 yards compared to other chamberings with higher velocity, at least for me. Not that it can't be done, it isn't as easy as something with higher velocity.

I dont have a pic of the g-19, but it looks just like every other Gen 1 g. Have a pic of the Smith tho,

I put 8 out of 10 on a sheet of notebook paper at 125 yards with my Kimber 38 super.
I'd really like to work on a serious 100 yard load for it.

Some VERY nice guns!

The only ones I have that I consider longer than average range would be desert eagle 357 in 6 & 12 inch interchangeable barrel, 7.5" Ruger SRH, H&K Mk23, and to a lesser extent King Cobra 6".

Malamute, I think that is my favorite of yours....love the been there, done that patina. You can't fake that. Gunnutery, Regarding my multi-cal gun: top to bottom, 9mm/38 Suiper, 10mm (on the gun), and .45 ACP.

Here is my long range offering. Have not had a chance to sight it in yet.

SharpsDressedMan, that is one fine looking 1911. Absolutely love the multicaliber offering.

Both of these do well @ 200 yds, but will really bring a smile @ 100 yds. They are 460xvr & 500 S&W. With a 330gr in the 500 and a 200 gr in the 460 they are really fun to shoot.

This is my favorite long range shooter. It's a real challenge to shoot well. I like to shoot it on the 200 yard range at steel. We have a 18"x24" plate out there. Once I get the hold right I can hit 4-5 out of 10 off hand. Its tons of fun. I hope to try it at longer ranges soon.

Although I've had similar groups in the past, this one is the best I've shot so far.
