My wife and I are here in Vegas for the Thanks Giving holiday. We're here to see my see my second grandson Ethan( three months old )and family. We're not gamblers' but we are shooters. So far we've been to the drag strip and saw the street car nationals, hiking in Red Rock and lots of playtime with Ethan. We were able to bring our conceal carry guns and plan to do a little shooting in the desert, are there any gun shops or other points of interest that are a" must do" for shooters? Love the weather and we're having a blast:)

Go to the Clark County shooting range-it is fantastic. I was there in January. I spent a grand total of $3.00 gambling during my week stay in LV. No kidding. Lots to do there besides waste your $.

As mentioned earlier, Pawn Stars is fun to see. The wife and I went there. We also drove out to the desert to see where the Stealth Program was tested (Area 51). It was exhilarating to say the least. I had to see what all the fuss was about...lol. If Nathan Burton is still doing his magic show at the Flamingo, check it out. It is a great show, and tickets are free or dirt cheap.

cemjr,
If you have the time, do a google earth search for Cold Creek Horses, drive north on 95 up towards Indian Springs, turn left between the prisons heading west about 5-8 miles. You can turn off the Veterans Hiway onto gravel roads at about 5.2 miles and a bit further on, at Indian Ridge, where you'll find, a place to shoot if no horses are present (you'll see the slob shooters trash, please pick up at least one piece of trash, just because) or if the horses are there, shoot using camera. Don't need 4 wheel if you don't go too far off paved road.

Early in morning is my favorite time. They let me get pretty close as you can see... or maybe it's vice versa. I've also seen mulies up there.

If you go further up towards Cold Creek, when the snow drives them down, there's an Elk herd worth your while to photo as well. My photos of them are on home computer, sorry.

ETA, Out towards Boulder City, you can often find the herd of Bighorns that wonder around, trying to find that photo group as well. Give me a bit. Might be at home as well.

re: Baba Louie

Did the Cold Creek range today, saw some wild horses. The slob shooters left me a couple a hundred rounds of 223 brass. I picked up some cigars at the Indian reservation , they had a huge selection. Having tons of fun , the scenery is spectacular:D

Excellent cemjr. Hope you got a photo of the ponies, good on the brass too (thanks for picking up, I appreciate it and hope others do as well).

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Safe travels.
