So, I have lately been bitten by the customization bug. I am curious as to how many others have either painted a gun to make it a little more to their liking, or even refinished a gun. Pretty much anything that makes a gun more aesthetically pleasing to you!

Pics are welcome (and encouraged)!

Here are my works so far....my rifle will probably be next once I get a new stock for it.

I want to do this to my hiPower.. waiting for a few more scratches in the pretty blue finish to justify.. I realize the value may go down but I'm going to be buried with this gun :p just kidding, my kids won't care :what: (about the gun)

It's fun and the results can be very good if you follow directions.

We are doing our AR's next. Starting on graphics next. It should be fun

bodam, Thant's some good looking work.

I don't have any photos of my rattle can work, but here's a rifle painted by a member here (Birddog1911). He does a really good job.

They're your guns, do what you want and have fun with them. These two were refinished and had some additional work done after they'd already been customized but had some wear on them (plus I hated the green:barf:).

My advice to OP, learn how to completely disassemble your project. It will come out so much better that way.

Creek, that came out really nice, I want to learn how to lay a snakeskin pattern. I need to find the right template and stencil. I am working on a Zebra print for a girl at work. The stencil is killing me, but I will figure out how I want it sooner or later.

I think folks use netting for the snakeskin, but I've never tried it. My paint jobs are a little crude. I cut a few shapes in cardboard, hold it near the rifle/shotgun and spray through it. As far as effective camo goes, it works really well, but it's no work of art...

The blueing on that 1911 IS a work of art! Perdy.

I added what I have done in my OP. The holster and the frame of the Glock were easy....I'm excited to try my rifle and see how it turns out... It is pretty fun painting things how you want them!

WC145 -

I think that stag handled one one fell out of my pocket... can you send it back to me when you get a chance? I'll pay postage. Thanks...thanks so much.
