I have heard good things about this place and I decided to buy from them last week as I wanted a Romanian M1969 they had. The price was ok and I was looking for a bolt 22lr. Well once I made the purchase they tell me they are ready to ship but was told they were not going to give me the tracking number and would only give it to the FFL I am sending it to (even though they do not have the email address for my FFL only the address). :what: To me that is just bad business. They are also striking the purchase from my account history on their website. Probably so I cannot get access to the tracking number. Am I being to harsh or expecting too much to be able to get the tracking number for something I paid for? Has anyone else had to deal with this from them? I have never had this happen with any other firearm purchase from any other company. After I receive the rifle (who knows when) it will be the last purchase from this company. I even told this to my FFL and he looked at me like I was on something. He even said it was idiotic. :banghead::what:

Maybe this is something new. They said they only do it for firearm purchases.

No clue as to your personal experience, but I have ordered many guns from Aim and have always received a tracking #. Even without one though, it will be at your FFL within a week, if it was in stock at time of purchase.

Ah, how I remember the days of phone orders or mail orders and getting your order "when you get it". How technology makes us demand instant information/results is amazing.

Wanted to order some pistols from them with my C&R a while ago.... But apparently they won't ship them to MA..... Even though there are no laws against it.

That's fine, classic arms was all to happy to take my money.

I have never ordered a gun, I did order a receiver. I got the tracking number and everything. Have you called and talked to them or is this just via email?

Yes Jackal things are better now than before but that is how things are now. I am not asking for instant information. I am just asking for the information they automatically provide to anyone with any order. I would not care if I had to call to get the tracking number. It is the fact that even after I contacted them they would not give it to me. I do not think I am asking for anything out of the norm.

Chad,

It was through email and there were a few of them. Once they open on Monday I will be calling to see if I can get the information. I am not holding out hope that I will get it though.

Well, I have found that emailing never goes anywhere. If you want real results call and if you have problems keep asking for the person in charge. I have ordered a lot of stuff from them and been very happy. I have never had to contact them though. Good Luck.

I've ordered over a half dozen C&R rifles from AIM along with some other accessories and never had a problem.

Why do you care about the tracking number? I won't even ask till week 2...or after I think I should have gotten it. I think your expectations are a little unrealistic. I've done business with them more times than I can count. Good that you aren't ordering from them...more stuff for me. :)

Thanks Chad. I will try to call them on Monday. Hopefully I will get the information.

Mongo the reason I want the tacking number is because I have to plan for being able to pick up the rifle from the FFL. If I know when it is to arrive then I can plan around it. If you are fine with not getting it then that is fine for you. Not for me. If I put down my hard earned money for something I want to know where it is. I do not think that is unrealistic. Being unrealistic would be asking for a tracking number when they never give it out to anyone but since they send out a tracking number with every order they take, expecting the same is not unrealistic.

Get an 03 C&R FFL and get your guns (C&R eligible) delivered to your home. Problem solved. The $30 for the license is soon paid for in saved transfer fees.

I have thought about that Jimmy. I do not think the M1969 is C&R eligible though. Or maybe that have changed. I still might consider it. Or maybe even a full FFL. Have to look into that.

Whenever I've ever ordered from them I've gotten a tracking number. Maybe when you called, you got someone new or having a really bad day? Otherwise that's pretty strange.

Might be a new policy. I have ordered tons of stuff including firearms from them and never had this or anything unusual happen.

Must be a new policy as they said their local ATF office told them they should do it that way. As I guess they have had some problems with people using the tracking number to catch the items at the local hubs before they get to the FFL. the way around that is to state " change of address not allowed" on the package. Hopefully if I call on Monday if I cannot get the tracking number at least they can tell me the expected date of arrival at the FFL. I am still going to try to get the tracking number though.

Why do you care about the tracking number

I was thinking the same thing honestly. I have faith in both my local FFL, and AIM to get the job done. Though I usually avoid shipping by picking up. One of the few perks of living in Cincinnati.

I'm holding the M1969 I bought Thursday. It's rough, but the bore is great. I hope the op gets a good one.

Yeah at one time when someone ordered furniture in America, they had to wait 6 months for it to be built and shipped across the Atlantic from England.

We get things faster now, because we have spent the time and effort to get information and products faster now. Why should we be patient when a company ignores all of the progress made over the years?

UPS offers delivery intercept and change of delivery address services based on tracking number. Not sure if that's the issue or not, but the lack of a tracking number should not be the sole reason that you are writing off Aim as a source.

Why not call Aim and ask to speak with Eric or email him. I'm sure he'll get an answer to you that would be a far better gauge to use to determine whether you want any future dealings with the.

AIM's good to go in my book with multiple transactions completed to my 100% satisfaction.

Highorder. I hope I get a good one also. I paid the extra $10 for the hand pick but that still does not guarantee a good one. I am hopeful though. I wish I could pick up but where I live there is not much around and most places here are way overpriced. As for the tracking number, I need it to planning to pick it up. I have limited time for doing so and being in the dark makes it hard to do.
