This time the craze is aimed at ARs , but the AKs and SKSs are relegated to the backburner. We saw it was different back in the 1990s when cheap supply of Chicom imports were flooding the market. But the Antis can shift focus anytime , targeting again on our AKs and SKSs. They might want a total ban on importation of these foreign arms supply as well as bulk ammo from Eastern Europe.

AKs and anything else that looks it might be featured in Call of Duty is gone in my neck of the woods.

what does an ar15 and tax returns have to do with the connecticut shooting?

nothing, nothing at all.

All of the ones with aftermarket hi cap mags at my local LGS were gone.

You can't honestly think that every variant of pistol grip equipped carbine/rifle isn't going to be banned just because the focus of the press in on ARs???

If any form of legislation is passed you'll see your AK gone along with the ARs.

What he said. Remember "divide and conquer" strategies? Demonize a small part of your enemies and prevail, rinse and repeat.
Don't be fooled. We need to stand together.

Don't knock the Chinese rifles. They are my best shooters in that class of guns. Finestine's bill has all of the SKS models in it, along with almost every semi auto made, past and present. chris3

The only "military" or "assualt" type rifle I own is a SKS. It is a chinese with the Tapco stock and detachable mags. Very dangerous looking. It came with the wood stock and fixed mags. I swapped out the black plastic for the wood and metal and it doesn't look nearly as evil. I wonder if it shoots faster the meaner it looks. ;)

Anyway, since everything seems to be gone and I already had quite a few detachable mags I ordered another SKS from Buds last night for $329.00. figured it was still a relatively good price for a good gun and know I have one I can keep evil looking and one I can keep not as dangerous with the wood stocks

Feinstein will ban airsoft guns with a pistol grip and a flash hider given a chance.

Don't worry as soon as the AR's are picked over they will be sighting in on anything else available

Hah! AKs were the first guns on the list in the 1994 AWB (AR-15s were 4th) and will probably have the same alphabetical honor in any new AWB.

Is this list published anywhere yet? I did a quick google but couldnt find it.

Feinstein said she would submit her bill at the start of the next session of Congress in January, so there is nothing definitive available at this time. However, her prior forays into writing an AWB are telling - look at pages 4, 5, and 6 of the PDF file. If you want to be pessimistic -and Feinstein is feeling particularly feisty- she might propose changing the 'detachable magazine and 2 characteristics' definition to only one characteristic.

Silent Bob, they might change the name to a "Call of Duty Weapons Ban," the CDWB. The "fringe" strategy isn't just a political strategy, it's just a good strategy. Against any strong opponent in anything, you pick the soft targets: supply lines, complacent enemies, security failures. Through incrementalism, eventually a bolt action rifle would only be allowed to have iron sights because a scope would only be necessary to kill people.
