Hi

Just purchased a Springfield XDm 3.8 in 9mm. Full grip model - not compact with grip extension. Have put 400 rounds thru it, am very happy. Any other owners out there with feedback on this gun? Am extremly interested in making front sight more visible to these old eyes. Gun shoots very well, better than I, has great ergonomics, and no problems. Any feed back?
Thanks

Go over to the "XD Talk Forum" for all the help you need; probably already something posted on this on that site.

I have a tritium sights on my XDsc 9mm. I picked it up for around $50, either meprolight or trijicon, can't remember which. You can install them yourself if you know what you're doing.

I also have an XDs and XDm 5.25 - both of which have the front blade hi-viz style sight. That works in everything but absolute darkness. cheaper and more simple.

An NRA Pistol Instructor I work with put XS Big Dot sights on his.

You have a very accurate handgun. Get a little practice in and work on your technique and you will be shooting quarter sized groups in no time.

Sorry for the iPhone tag below, I am trying to figure out how to turn it off.

I carried a G19 for 6-7 years, but switched to that exact gun last year. I carry it every day.

I won a certificate for a C-More sight at a pistol match and selected the STS dot sight. I tried similar sights on Glocks and a CZ75 and they didn't work. I was always searching for the dot. On the XDm, it's perfect. The dot's right there every time.

It's a carry gun for the 21st century.

I got a XD45c to use as a duty weapon. That led to an XD9sc for off duty. Got an XD40sc on a whim. Now I have the XDM40 3.8 compact as well. They are the only guns that I feel comfortable enough with that I can put up my Kimber Tactical Custom II-Colt Defender combination.

Traded the 40sc for a S&W 36 J-Frame but still have the other three.

I've got two of the XDM 4.5" models. One in 9mm and one in .40S&W. I love these guns, so far they've been extremely reliable and are easy to take apart to clean.

Accuracy is very impressive as well. All in all they're a great gun for the price and come with lots of extras, I especially like the nice case it comes in.

I've had the XDm 3.8" 9mm for about 2 years now. I have 10 other handguns from .22 to .44 mag and that XDm is by far the most accurate....... and the most fun to shoot.

Try the CZ75B. It is the only gun that beats my XDM when it comes to accuracy.

I have the exact same XDm, 3.8, full size frame, 9mm. I admit that it was my first gun and have limited experience, but thus far I love it. I have probably 4,000 rounds through it without a single malfunction or issue otherwise. I also thought the sights weren't bright enough so I used some Tritium sight paint a friend let me borrow to brighten up the rear and changed the front post to orange. I still want to replace them with Trijicon night sights but this helped me considerably.

I have an XD9SC and carry it everyday while I guard a courthouse. The gun practically shoots itself it's so accurate. I love the fact that I can reload for it as apposed to a Glock. In qualifying for my license renewal I came in first out of 10 others. Scored a 147 out of a possible 150, I'm sure it's more the gun than it is me.
