Think I figured out why Cuomo came up with 7

Their goal is to divide us. Segment us into 5 groups and ban each group until there is no private handgun ownership. First the double stack autos, then any auto, then six guns, rim fires, then single shots. They are very patient.
Remember what Rham Emanual Mayor of Chicago and former BHO advisor once said " never let a crisis go to waste" a more cynical idealog never existed. :fire:

i don,t like 30 rd mags, they are heavy and throw off my balance a little. but if they made a reliable 60, i,d want one. belt fed would be even better

Personally, I figured it was based on what the legislature thought was the most common deer hunting rifle, the Winchester 94 in 30-30. My guess is that NY makes a fair amount of money selling deer hunting tags.

Why 7 ?

1. Cuomo wants to bring casinos to New York state via Coney Island and contemplates having to make another shady deal to get it done.
2. Cuomo wants to tighten gun laws further for law abiding citizens in order to better protect the interests of his mobster buddies.

Hence: crap & shooters go together, so.........7.

Aww we finally get an FAQ on how the law will effect us.

http://www.governor.ny.gov/2013/gun-reforms-faq
Q: What if I have a magazine that can contain more than ten rounds?

A: You can permanently modify the magazine so that it holds no more than ten rounds, responsibly discard it, or sell it to a dealer or an out of state purchaser by January 15, 2014.

Q: Is there any background check required for purchasers of ammunition?

A: No. The background check requirement does not take effect until January 15, 2014.

Background check requirement for AMMO? Wow. Registration wasn't enough, nor was raping the mag capacities of the populous.

& there is nothing set up to do the backround check on ammo, register the guns, nothing is in place & might take months if not years. They issued leisure passes for a county run range,it took almost 2 years from the time they made everyone get this pass untill the system was up & running.Cant do the nics system, its federal, has nothing to do with ammo in NYS.Talk about biting off more than they can chew...

good luck finding someone with ammo in stock anyway. Most stores around here are selling out the inventory and waiting to figure out the law and what's necessary before getting any new stock. No more internet sales of ammo either. Now I'm at the mercy of whatever brick and mortar store is going to sell it at whatever price. That's if any of them stay in business after all this goes into effect. One local store I frequent pretty much said they're shutting down soon as all the stock is gone. It's surreal going in there and seeing a sea of blue tags on anything black (LEO Only)

Used to get deals online for .338 Lapua, kept it tolerable, all the locals started at $80, online was mid $50's for Hornady. Plus I'm screwed with my oddball calibers. Had to use cowboy loads in my .45-70, new made has too high pressures for a trapdoor. Don't think I've ever found a place that carry's 7.63x25 Mauser...

Just means I'm going to have to invest in more reloading dies and powder now. Until they ban that because there's no way to track it.

Economic warfare--both the manufacturers and the gun owners will have to dig into their pockets for nothing. It`s just like the nuisance suits against the gun companies-- bleed èm dry.

Until they figure out that primers are the weak link. How about THAT!? NICS check to buy primers?

It's time to get out the campaign signs, men, and meet at the Old North Church. The Bluecoats are coming.

The "Looney-Tunes Left" has ALWAYS had the same agenda...dis-arm all of America except the Police, Military and THEIR Security Guards.

Remember a few years back when the late Sen 'Ted' Kennedy was literally foaming at the mouth to ban 'Armor-Piercing' .30-30 ammunition?
