Anyone tried 115 grain in their 40-9 conversion barrels? I just bought one and shot a couple boxes of 124 grain. It functioned great, of course. Lone wolf doesn't recommend anything less than 124. Has 115 worked for you guys?

I have used Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrels for Glock 22/23/27 using G17/G27 mags with various 115 gr FMJ factory (including +P JHP) and 115 gr FMJ reloads without issues.

I had problems with light loaded 115 grain with my LW 9mm barrel for my G23 gen4. From what I understand it is more of an issue with the dual recoil spring set up in the gen 4 models. I bought a regular recoil spring Gen3, and the adaptor to fit the slide. Since I shoot this gun alot, I use this set up for range sessions. Afterwards I put the dual spring back in for carry. My thinking is that I will put most of the wear on the cheapier spring, and prolong the life of the higher one (neither is really expensive).

Just took it out and it ran flawless with blazer 115's. I only ran 50 rounds though. I also ran 20 rounds of the zombie max hollow points through it fine.

Whoops....we didn't get that memo!

115 gr WWB is about all we use for range plinking. :D Just bought 200 rounds at the local Walmart.

The only downside I've seen so far is weak ejection.

I have run several thousand 115 gr through my 26 & 27 both with Lone Wolf conversion barrels nary a problem with either.

I had some failures to eject with light 115gr. handloads in my Gen4 Glock 22 with the Lone Wolf barrel. I think the recoil spring, which was made to hande the .40S&W, is a bit too stout for them. It runs fine with commercial 9mm in 115gr., and with hotter handloads that match them. The lighter handloads function fine in my Glock 26 Gen3.

WOLFF springs (different than Lone Wolf) shows the 17/17L, 20, 21, 22, 24, 31, 34, and 35 to all come from the factory with 17lb springs - so being setup for .40 vs 9mm from the factory may not hold any water regarding cycling issues with drop in barrels. On top of that I've had issues with S&B 115gr in other factory non-modified 9mm pistols, and multiple shooting buddies at work have reported the same in additional pistols they've tried the ammo in. It's junk ammo, barely good enough for range duty - unless you're real keen on working malfunction drills.

The only issues I've had are with Remington UMC (Green and White Box). About 1 round/box of 50 failed to eject. Otherwise I've put RWS 124 gr, WWB 115 gr, Winchester NATO 124 gr, fiocci 115/124/147 and they've each run flawlessly. I also don't have a 9mm extractor either so that could be an issue with the UMC.

What LWD says is this: "About 1% of our 9mm conversion barrels are affected by the poor performance of low powered 115 grain..."

If you're shooting poorly performing lower power 115s, you may have a problem. Sounds like you're in the 99% who don't.

I never had problems with either of my 40-9 barrels: low power, high power, 115, 124, 147, cast, jacketed, plated ... just no problems.

I had to change out the trigger housing in my Gen 4 35, in order for anything to eject properly. I also needed to run an 11# recoil spring, and the brass still just cleared the chamber, but ran 100% with the two changes. It also fed 9mm through the 40cal mags 100%.

I had a Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel for a Glock 35, and it would choke periodically on 115 gr (i.e., wouldn't cycle properly.) I sold that gun a while back.

I guess I missed the instructions to use only 124.

I have a LW 40-9 for a Glock 23, and it seems to work fine with 115. But I'll keep the "only 124" warning in mind in the future.

Mine 40-9 conversion should be here today. I hope mine will run 115 wwb. That's all I plan to shoot out of it. Had to get the the threaded tho. Stock length was sold out. Can't seem to find a 9mm mag either. But he a single shot for a little bit

Jdgray- I had no idea. Somebody told me I had to change to the 9mm mag. That's realy good to know! I'm going to try that out tomorrow
