I love how the have no comments section thereby eliminating any chance of people providing a rebuttal to their idiotic statements.

That's strange, normally the media is so good at providing well-researched and thoroughly thought-out stories and providing unbiased opin--wait, nevermind.

They do have a CONTACT List

If you look at the top right of the website there is a CONTACT US tab, this tab gives you the phone numbers and email addresses for the various groups.
I just sent an email to the station manager and the news room,
Politely advised them that there article is biased and contains half truths.
Also that reloading is a great hobby that I have pursued for well over thirty years. Suggested that they interview a real reloader and get the full story.
Also advised that IF I lived in their broadcast area, I would certainly be contacting their advertisers and advising that I would no longer watch the programming on this station.
Hit them in the pocket book and it gets their attention.
Our local ABC station called an AR15 a fully automatic rifle and showed video of a full auto being fired.
They aired this on the 5pm news, I immediately emailed them and also called the newsroom. They apologized and pulled the item from the 11PM news
Hope the guys down there are calling and emailing the station!

Somebody better call blackhills and tell them to quit selling their blue box thats so popular! Seriously, must be a slow news day.

In fact it's so dangerous, Fowler Firearms doesn't allow reloaded ammo on their shooting range.

These are probably the same ranges that require you buy their crappy overpriced ammo. Certainly not reloads, or anything else you didn't buy from him. A curse on Fowler Firearms for giving them "ammo" against us. I hate those kinds of ranges anyway. People is S. Florida don't have much choice though.

Sure am glad the experts at NBC called this to my attention. i've been doing this danderous reloading stuff since 1953 and age 14. It coulda killed me.:D

I'll say.

That's quite a piece of fiction. The story makes it sound like reloading is a new, untested practice. Every range that I shoot at allows the use of reloaded ammo. Heck, the LGS nearest me even sells their own reloads for use on their range and, as a result of having a large standing inventory of components prior to this little 'scare', has been able to remain open even when other nearby ranges were forced to close their doors for a while.

Wow! That's all I shoot! I guess it's more dangerous than I thought! Just plain BS!

That didn't take long... They were, of course, all lost in a tragic boating accident.

uhoh which idiot demorat will be the first to ban reloading as a safety issue for the neighbor hood, need background checks for purchase of powder, call it high explosives and any other idiotic thing they can dream up.

Don't give them any ideas.

This was actually a pretty good "hit piece" playing on its "low-information" audience with some skill. We in the "shooting community" need to consider and address the bias conveyed by this article. IOW, what we know in the shooting community isn't even a pimple on the awareness of the LI public giving the implied "reloading risk" that was the whole story line a verisimilitude it didn't deserve.

IMO we need to include all the aspects of the shooting sports in presentations. Safe gun cleaning and skill with the disassembly/reassembly is one aspect. Reloading as an adjunct family activity to shooting - with emphasis upon strict safety protocols and referencing appropiate data and techniques - is another. >MW

"Live in the studio" how stupid is that? Like he was reporting from somewhere else.

Those in the industry say it's likely the problem will only get worse since there is no end in sight for the ammunition shortage.

The shortage began after congress began talking about gun control.

So, Congress is making people do something dangerous? Oops, is that what the writer said?

I wonder what this writer would say about people making their own motor vehicle fuel? Oh, wait! People do that, and the media loves it.

Experts say without the right ingredients, or if it's done incorrectly, reloaded ammunition can be dangerous.

Improperly loading a shell can cause a gun to explode.
Perfectly true. By its self this is nothing.

But, if preaching that reloading is dangerous becomes the norm for the media, and they start coming out with restrictions for our own good, then we really need to worry.
