Something that they never seem to get is that without us, the legal gun owners, there would be no gun lobby.

We must redouble our efforts, we've done great so far on the national level to block the AWB and more than likely the mag caps. We need to STOP the "universal background check" and prevent registration which will lead to confiscation. Not to mention the fact you'll have to pay for two transfer fees to lend a buddy a hunting rifle for the weekend.

Being a Democrat in Congress has got to be stressful right now. They can anger the voters or their party leaders. Either way is career ending. We may see a lot of them simply not vote on these bills.

Ha, that's rich. Well, I say let the congress critters listen to Biden and Bloomberg. It'll make our job easier to get them kicked out of congress. I feel that the house is fairly safe, so I am not biting my nails about an AWB. I guess what the average congress critter realizes is you vote against guns you stir up a lot of 2A single issue voters who will pursue you with a single-minded purpose. You vote no on it, and the pro-gun control crowd will simply shrug and go "well, we tried" and move along.

I don't think Bloomberg is truly anti gun in the same way, say, as the Brady bunch.

My personal assessment, which you may or may not agree with, is he is the most dangerous reptile in the Democratic Party (quite the oxymoron, lately). Threatening his own kind, using money to illegally conduct sting operations across the nation, buying votes and support.

Exactly. Bloomberg the man is vulnerable. He's notorious for his treatment of women among other things, and of course he's gotten universal derision for his attack on big gulps. The far left hate him for his abuse of protestors over the past decade, and his stop-and-frisk system has been used to openly harass anyone who doesn't look right in the opinion of NYPD. Some black guys have been frisked hundreds of times, with nary a charge to show for it. He's extremely rich, but he's also an extreme jerk and something of a Jr. Birdman fascist.

I'm not sure how buying a dealership out would do anything but make him feel better, for a few minutes at that. Take J&G Sales in AZ for example; suppose a slick NY lawyer shows up in a suit with a lot of money and wants to buy the store. They'd just ask for 10 - 20% more than the place is worth, move down the street, change their address on their license with the ATF, and re-open under a different name. They could pocket the extra $ they charged Bloomberg, use it to expand, whatever.

Bloomberg would not last 5 minutes in Israel, nor would Feinstein. They are hypocritical two faced self serving dictatorial big mouths. And we really need to get this type of person out of a position of being able to mandate their will upon anyone.

An other point to consider: Bloomberg is playing a very dangerous game threatening others in his party. If he oversteps his bounds, the ones in the house and senate can come down on him, hard. What is a billionaire to the law-makers who can, with a stroke of a pen, take everything he owns from him. I'm somewhat confident that the republican side would be none too sympathetic to Bloomberg either if his own party turns on him.

They've convinced themselves that that didn't really happen! Seriously. There are a bunch of articles repeating the mantra that 1994 wasn't really about guns and neither was 2000. We need to disabuse them of that notion next year.
