One man's border war.

Typical Federal reaction.
"You're being targeted by truckloads of vicious law breakers who destroy your property and shoot at you. Sorry, we can't help."
:barf:
I guess he's lucky he hasn't been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.:barf: :fire: :cuss: :banghead:

It sure as hell sounds like a war to me! Notice that the local sheriff cannot place a guard! A citizen is under attack on American soil by foreign nationals. Yup! Sounds like awar to me!:fire:

Ranch Rescue, the private militia that offers patrol services to ranchers along the border, wants to help to Kozak, said militia leader Jack Foote.

Kozak has said he doesn't want it.

"Ranch Rescue's been wanting this to happen and unfortunately, I don't believe they know the depth or magnitude of what could happen to them or the relations between both countries," he (Douglas Mayor Ray Borane) said.

I don't know anything about Ranch Rescue and if they have a good reputation, but for Kozak to refuse help and take these guys on alone is a bad move. If I were him and I didn't want Ranch Rescue involved, I would definitely at least call on some brave friends to come live with me for awhile.

And as far as the mayor's opinion, I think he's vastly overestimating how much Mexico cares about a bunch of violent drug runners. If I'm wrong, then the United States has become more of a wimp than I suspected.

In battle you don't wait for the enemy to start firing, you close with and destroy them. Any reasonable person should agree that the enemy in this case has already struck the first blow anyway.

EDIT: Here's a link for Ranch Rescue

Devonai, the official policy for press releases from the Mexican government is that there are no drug runners or Mexican military anywhere near the U.S. border. All the people who cross are good, hard-working folks who are looking for jobs. People in the U.S. are nothing but racist Old Meanies for wanting these peaceful souls to obey the law and come in legally.

Sarcasm mode off.

It does sound as if he should consider a heavier caliber rifle for shooting at trucks.

I'd bet that you can't get Claymores legally.
It does seem like a person could work out something involoving a mouse trap and a shotgun shell.

I wonder if ha has considered asking some full auto owners if they'd like to use his land for a little random fire into the dark? Perhaps facing in a southerly direction.
Just to watch to flashes, you understand. There's not supposed to be anybody out there anyway, right. They could even check before dark just to be sure.:scrutiny:

I really feel for this guy. Too bad he can't just shoot now and ask questions later.

If these criminals just started disapearing how would anyone know for sure where they decided to illegally cross into our country? It would be against the law, but somewhere you have to draw a line in the sand and say that tresspassers will be shot mo matter what.

He needs to rent a skiploader or bulldozer and dig a ten foot wide trench 10 feet deep from one end of the property to the other across the travel route these guys use. That leaves them with having to go around, fill it in, or build a bridge.

One of these with a good scope would help with long distance motivation

Ya don't understand .....

Arizona isn't made up of dirt, it's all solid rock, and as the land is mostly flat with scrub brush - they can drive cross-country and around most obstructions.

Old Fuff

I guess he'll have to resort to the old way, then -- dynamite. Even if he makes a redoubt that is but three feet deep and four feet wide he can stop them dead in their tracks.

I like your method .....

But wouldn't it be better to wait until the truck (or whatever) was over the dynamite before starting to make the trench?

reality check

It doesn't matter what he tries to do or how ingenious he is: OUR GOVERNMENT will stop him (and anyone who helps him). Border-protectors fall under the category of dangerous nuisances to the people who run America these days.

Sorry to say...the inevitable outcome of this story is going to be that the guy is going to have to put a bullet into somebody and then he will be prosecuted for killing one of these allegedly defenseless, hard-working folks:rolleyes:

I think he needs a whole bunch of those jersey walls sunk into the ground or doubled up, id like to see them move them without some heavy equipment. A .50 caliber to stop vehicles at the perimeter and then anyone who comes inside should be considered shot in self defense.

Kozak says he threatened the agency with an injunction because, like the smugglers, the agents kept cutting down his fences.
Let me get this straight: The FEDS have been cutting down his fences on his property? What right do they have to do this? Its not their property (unless you look at taxes as rent, like I do :fire: ), so wouldnt this constitute at the very least vandalism, possibly Destruction of Property?

Turning away the help of Ranch Rescue was a bad idea. If I had that sort of problem, I would more than welcome that sort of help.

You don't need guns to defend yourself, that's what the police are for! If he's having problems with drug runners shooting at him, he should just move!

He needs something belt fed, mounted, and .50 cal for the next truck to race across his land shooting at him.

I'll help him out. I know a few guys that would be willing to help. lets get a posse together and let those aliens a good old fashioned high road welcome.
