I apologize, but the entire point of this thread is that I'm too excited. I just picked this up today. (As a side note, its the first time without having to register it with NYS first! I'm so happy to have made the move as part of the Free State Project).)

My first 1911, my new Sig Spartan (unloaded, of course):

Nice gun...Welcome to New Hampshire...Did your dealer have that in stock or was it a special order?

I'm so freakin' jealous! Just saw one in person yesterday for the first time. Funny thing is, I did not like it in pictures, but now that I have seen and held it, I can't stop thinking about it! Congrats on the purchase.

Thanks guys! I like it when I saw the photos but I like it *much* more in person. The grips are smooth but not too smooth, especially with the frontstrap checkering.

I picked it up at the pro shop at Sig Academy in Epping, NH. They have pretty much all Sig inventory I can think of in stock. They had the one out on display and when I asked for one they got a sealed box from the back. They also have a good selection of Magpul and Mitch Rosen stuff which is difficult to find elsewhere. And, at least yesterday and today, they had a ton of PMAGs. They're limiting PMAG purchases to 1 product per customer per day, though one of the products is a 2 PMAG + coupler bundle. They've not had any when I've been there previously.
I'm very happy with the selection and inventory that we have in southern NH between the Sig Pro Shop and Shooters' Outpost. A lot of people like KTP across the border too but I avoid them due to some of their policies.

Should also add: the Sig Academy has decent pricing too on Sig guns, and an extra 20% off if you take a class. I'm not eligible yet though as my class isn't until later this summer.

My wife went with me and has come to love the look of the Sig 1911 Zombie Edition. Unfortunately she doesn't like the feel of 1911s (though she has yet to shoot one - a problem we'll soon remedy).

Had to go back to the factory :-(. Empty mags wouldn't hold the slide open if rounds were fired after it was inserted. Also had 1 failure to feed.

Archigos,

Did you already send in to the factory? Reason I ask is my dad and I were at the range recently with his brand new sig scorpion 1911 and we had a bunch of malfunctions in the first 50 or so rounds but zero malfunctions in the following rounds. Just some food for thought. Great looking gun you got there.

Thanks madwell... I did already send it back. I just took it to the Sig Academy Pro Shop again and had them bring it over to the factory.
I'm with you when its a few malfunctions in a new gun... but I probably should clarify... it wasn't that the slide didn't lock back after the last round, which could've been caused by the slide not fully cycling. It didn't lock back after the last round and wouldn't lock back even when racked by hand until the magazine was ejected then reinserted, and this happened the majority of times it was fired. I even tried loading just 1 round a number of times and I'd roughly estimate it did this 70-80% of the time.
