I agree. I think Manchin sealed his fate with his UBC bill.

Well, he ran with an ad of him taking aim at Obamacare with his rifle to demonstrate how committed he was to virtually everything he's since supported.

Does anybody really trust him or others of his ilk?

Hmm...he did just vote no on the Manchin/Toomey Amendment. Wonder if he will vote for the AWB.

I swear I heard Reid vote nay for AWB

The Feinstein AWB just lost, 60-40. Not even close. Reid predicted this.

Reid managed to vote both for and against gun control. This way he's covered no matter what. What a sleaze.

Though I think everyone sees the true reason for voting against Manchin-Toomey

Its the "D" part. I keep saying it some argue. But when it comes to towing the party line, they "D"s seem to 90%+ of the time. In a prior thread, some were even using him as an example of a "D" who was pro gun.....

"R"s have the opposite nasty habit of abandoning the party line and voting with the "D"s... esp. on 2A issues...

Glad for the vote today, however. I'm also glad it wasnt close and didnt pass the Senate, some in the House were already starting to get weak knee'd

I think that keeps it from ever coming to the floor again without a 60% majority. Not everything is what it seems.

Oh it was more than procedural. Did you listen to him? His little diatribe was wonderful. He chided the "conspiracy theorists" for claiming that there was a plot to take away our guns. THEN HE ACTUALLY VOTED TO TAKE AWAY OUR GUNS!

I guess he won't be running again.
