Your link is incomplete. Here's the poll though... http://www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/poll-2/congressional-action-on-guns/16826/

I find it hard to vote that Congress should leave some very terrible gun laws on the books. If I'm at a gunshow/LGS and I see a gun that my buddy/brother/father has long been looking for, but he's not there to buy it, I can't buy it for him and he pay me back when I deliver it to him; this is against the law. Why should that remain illegal? I wish there were an option that Congress repeal all of the unconstitutional laws that they've passed. I'd vote for that option.

Voted. As of right now, 94% of respondents say leave the laws alone. Surprising for a PBS site. I'm guessing that other pro-gun sources have picked up on the poll and are skewing the numbers. Your average PBS view isn't a strong pro-Constitutionalist.

Have you guys seen the current results of this poll? Good Lord... Only 2 ways to spin this: either enthusiasm for new gun control is functionally zero, or PBS polls are completely worthless. I'll let PBS pick one and run with it; it's their poll.

I want to know why there isn't a "repeal current restrictions" option.

Because its too much of an open ended answer. I'd bet most people would want (almost) zero restrictions on firearms. Look at this site for example, there are a lot of disagreements on how much restrictions there should be. Non violent felons owning guns, open carry, etc.

Personally, I want zero restrictions. A lot of people disagree with me.

It is quite interesting to watch the comments on a fairly liberal site like PBS. It seems even a fair number of liberals are questioning the 'wisdom' of control. That's why I never trust the 'mainstream' media. They tout things like NRA members wanting strict background checks in the 90% mark in terms of support, but on a generally more liberal site like PBS the numbers are a complete 180 degree shift. Once again, given a clear poll without a loaded leading question, most reasonable people won't support more gun control for law abiding citizens.

Congressional action on guns

What should Congress do about gun control?

Leave federal gun laws as they are (94%, 17,788 Votes)

Expand background checks, ban assault weapons and limit the capacity of magazines (3%, 661 Votes)

Only expand background checks (3%, 514 Votes)
Total Voters: 18,963

I voted. On PBS no less. They are so liberal they must be steaming. I wish they would realized they are in the minority.

An individual can't buy a gun and later sell it in California???

I refuse to participate in this poll because I don't want to leave the gun laws as they are. I want them rolled back (particularly the Hughes Amendment). The poll is deeply flawed, and it's meaningless anyway.

I think the Obama people need to check there stats, 94% to leave it allow says it all!!!
