A few months ago I upped my NRA membership from annual to Life Member, and my check was cashed about 3 weeks ago by the NRA. But I still have not received anything from the NRA acknowledging the change, including a new card. I know that they are very busy with new members joining at record rates, but this still seems to be a very long time, especially after cashing my check. I wonder if this wait time is normal.

This is going to sound silly but, are you sure you don't already have it? As in maybe your spouse or roommate put it in a pile and didn't tell you.

I had been waiting for my life card for several months. I started cleaning my desk. Part way through a stack of paper I found an envelope from the NRA with the card. By the time I found it, I'd guess I had it for at least a month, probably more like two or three.

I opted for life membership months ago, sent the check , they cashed it and
have not heard boo from them since then !!

I do however keep receiving notices my annual membership will expire soon.....

I just kept a copy of the check, so if they "forget" I can remind them later

LOOONG wait for your card. You may be able to check the NRA members website to confirm you are a life member but, your card, pin, and patch will arrive. The good news is, the longer the backlog, the more new members they have to process.

It will show up I promise.

I became a "Lifer" on 3/23 and just got my packet last week.

Hang in there!:)

The NRA has had a huge jump in membership applications...and with good reason. Give them time to get caught up.

Be Patient, Mine took about 2 months, then today I noticed they spelled my name wrong, so I called this evening, said they would fix it and I'd get my new card in 4-6 weeks.

Mine took over a month. A whole lot of people took advantage of the $300 lifetime membership. As already stated above, they have a big backlog.

Hope the NRA manages this financial windfall for the long haul. Any idea if they run hand-to-mouth or maintain reserves?

I've been waiting since mid-February for my NRA Instructor credentials/stuff. According to the instructor website, I should be getting them soon. They're up to apps received on February 26th so I should get it soon.

It took a long wait but I got through on the phone to the NRA Membership office. They confirmed that they had cashed my check and that I am now listed as a life member. As many comments have said here, they told me to just be patient and my packet will be coming.

Both my gun clubs need NRA cards for membership. Well I guess you could bring the certificate or whatever, but the card is easier to carry :D.

I've been an NRA Member since 1987 (yeah I know, not long like you old guys :neener:) January I went for the LIFE deal. My card arrived early April. Yeah, slow - but I wasn't too worried.

Don't worry - Be happy!

:)This backlog is GREAT news. I know they are working all out!
Be patient - thousands of our fellow citizens are finally waking up.:p

Yeah. I wasn't complaining. On the instructor side, the Training Counselor that I've taken most of my classes from said that there was only 1 or 2 people who actually handled the processing of instructor applications.
