I am planning on going to a IPSC match in my area over this coming weekend.

I plan to take a glock 17 to shoot and I have a double and single mag pouch for it. I have a bunch of mags, so I was thinking of loading up 10 mags to bring with me. I also have a belt man gun belt that I was planning on wearing.

Is there anything else that I should know before going? Should I practice shooting some IPSC targets before the match?

You can practice shooting them if you want. The thing you want most is to know where the zones are regardless of how the target is presented to you (with a no-shoot in front, canted to the side, etc.). Remember, slow is smooth and smooth is fast...

I shot a USPSA match this past weekend and we had a guy have two rounds discharge as he was drawing his gun. That is a DQ no matter what match you are shooting. Moral of the story? Don't go so fast that you aren't still in complete control.

Yeah, I plan to slow things down and work on being smooth and not worry about time or my score.

I get nervous shooting at events like this. I did a steel match a couple years ago and it was an eye opener about how you perform when let your nerves get the best of you. After that I built a steel range at home and have been practicing a lot more.

Sounds like you're about set. As you've pretty much indicated, for your first match don't shoot for score. Use it to familiarize yourself with the game, and how to compete safely. As you get the hang of it you can let loose a bit more speed.

Your Glock 17 will be fine. If you're shooting actual international IPSC you'll probably want to shoot Production. They will allow 15 rounds there (compared to 10 in USPSA) and starting with 1 in the gun and 3 more on the belt should be plenty. If you want to load up 10 mags ahead of time thats fine but personally even when I have extras I usually just use a specific set of 5 mags during a match and reload those in between stages.

Good luck and have fun!
