because of a family emergency i am in need of some money, i was planning on going to the bank then a friend of mine offered this deal. now i have already made up my mind on what i'm gonna do, just wondered what ya'll would do. i have a stoeger cougar 40s&w 6 mags and 600rds fmj ammo, its been shot less than 50rds. he has a kel tec p11 9mm, 220rds of hp & fmj ammo, 3 mags and 2 sets of replacement sights. he has offered me his stuff and $200 boot, what would ya'll do? thanks

I suggest you keep the friend's offer for last resort. If you need money, deal with the bank. Avoid if at all possible using a "Pay day loan" site. They will suck your wallet dry for months to come if not all the way to bankruptcy to boot. Ask your lawyer to vet the fine print!!!

I have a P11 and it is an OK pistol, I don't plan on getting rid of it.

Having said that, If I had the Stoeger Cougar with 6 mags and 600 rounds of ammo I would not make that trade.

I'd try to find some other way to come up with the $200 and hang onto the gun.

But if your back is to the wall and you have to make the deal I believe you are going to regret it very soon.

Good luck whichever way you go.

in my mind the 400 rounds of ammo at todays prices, plus the number of mags you have over his, means he needs to pony up more cash. that's only provided your comfortable with the caliber and pistol swap.

i'd find another way to come up with the cash. best of luck with whatever you've decided.

I would keep your pistol, mags and 100 rounds of ammo, sell the other 500 rounds as that will bring in more than $200.

thanks everyone, i decided to keep the cougar, i called the bank and i can get $300 at $30 a month for 12 months on their easy pay plan. i would rather do that and still have a pistol i love than get one i don't like and i don't like the p11. thanks again

the more you borrow the less interest there is. i have insurance but needed gas money to go back and forth. $300 will be enough and $30 a month will be easy so i'm happy.
