I like unique guns and I like small guns. I was wondering if anyone has ever made a 22 mag "pocket" gun? Something the size of the Beretta Bobcat (or smaller)? I don't want this to turn into a "answer to a question never asked " debate. I am not looking for a new CCW, I just like unusual and small guns

There doesn't seen to bee many autoloaders in 22 mag, the only pocket gun i know of in 22mag is the naa mini and deringers.

I think the Automag II with a 3 1/2" barrel is about the smallest .22 Magnum auto pistol ever made.

I would imagine that since it's a rifle round, the performance out of a pistol wouldn't be ideal, and there are issues with it in magazine, because it's a rimmed round.

^^ It has actually been run, with quite a substantial level of success, in several autoloading pistols. Just not in any as small as the OP (and I) were wondering.

Would still be interesting to see a good attempt at a five-round-magazine small pistol in the caliber...

Thanks guys, I am kinda shopping for a 22mag snub nose revolver and this question popped in my head

Don't know about a .22 Mag, but Raven and Jennings
Made them in .22 LR and .25 Auto. Years ago they were
Around $70 new. I have always liked the idea of a .22 Mag
Autoloader, now Kel-Tec has one (.22 Mag ) that holds 30
Rounds, that would make me smile, but the price of such
Ammo and availability, I'll pass. And it might not be what
You are looking for.

^^Yeah, there are indeed plenty of autoloaders that are "pocket-sized" and in .22 Long Rifle, not just the older ones you mention. Choices also include some from Taurus and Beretta, along with now-discontinued versions from many other makers.

But one in .22WMR? Nope; sure doesn't appears so. At least, not in a "pocket" platform.

I loved my 22 mag 5 shot revolver. It gave me extreme coceilability. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Accurate enough and deep penetrating enough to get the job done. If the bg didn't die he'd wish he had after 5 shots of that

Since we're discussing .22 Mag Autoloaders, I have ALWAYS
wanted to see Ruger come out with one, now that would
Be a must !!

The small AMT is about J-frame sized and considerably bigger than a Tomcat.

What I'd like is a Tomcat sized gun in 5.7X28. It would probably be easier to make that run than a similar sized gun in 22 mag.

NAA Mini?

I'd look at High-Standard revolvers in .22 mag. Perhaps Harrington and Richardson made revolvers in .22 mag also. I'd prefer the former though.

Biggest problem with 22 Mag auto loader seems to be case length - rather, case length to diameter ratio. Really tends to make AMT Automags jam with feeding issues.

Always looked at but never purchased a 22 Mag revolver. It just seemed like a loud, flame-thrower. I do favor a 22LR snub and a 38 Special snub, which are both far more forgiving on the ears and night-vision.

I believe it was Bill Jordan in his later years carried a High-Standard .22 magnum revolver.
I'd just carry a .38 or .357 revolver instead of that.
