I now rent an apartment situated on a 20 acre lot just inside the limits of a large town/small city. The landlords are hunter-friendly.
City ordinances dictate that firearms cannot be discharged within 300 yards of an occupied dwelling without the permission of the owner. Using Google Earth, I found that there is no place on the 20-acre plot where I am 300 yards away from an occupied dwelling. I found a spot that is 286 yards away, though .
There are deer galore around here and they are supremely unwary. It wouldn't be hunting so much as harvesting free-range livestock.
Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to get set up with a bow or crossbow before the season starts.
