Well, pardon the poor picture quality but my camera's battery is dead, I can't find the charger, and I have been waiting long enough to join the club. So, without further to-do, my Remington 1858 marked for Dixie Gunworks. I had planned to get a 5.5" Pietta but the guy backed out and this one became available. Honestly, I think I'll like this one better as I also have a Pietta open top Colt (also shown below) and I like the fit and finish of this one better than that one. And the 8" barrel balances remarkably well.
Here she is, certainly not the prettiest girl on here but she's beautiful to me. I have a set of unfinished maple grips that I bought for the Pietta I was going to be getting that I am planning to shape down to her size and properly oil stain so they look more original. I'll let y'all know how that goes.
Here are my two revolvers together, along with the rest of my kit. I decided to use my sporran that I wear with my kilt as my bag for powder horn, measure, grease, etc. The holsters are set up both right hand draw, one cross draw and one strong side holster. Not really planning on taking up CAS yet, though I have been invited to come try it out. I just don't know if I have the money for it just yet. We college students are not well known for having lots of money lying around.
