SKS better sights options?

I tried Tech Sights on my Russian SKS, but I did not like them. The sight picture was basically chopped in half due to the height of the original rear sight base protruding up into the lower half of the circle. Like looking through a half circle. Its accuracy was still better, but the sight picture just really annoyed me. I had the TS100, which is lower than the TS200, which may not have the same issue.

Tech Sights made a huge difference for me. I removed the rear sight blade but can re-install it at any time. I can barely see an 8" circle at 100 yards but can hit it and hold within a few inches all day with the Tech's. Great product.

The Tech Sights (TS200 version) made the SKS so much better.:) The original leaf sight can be reinstalled.

It is the Only thing ever put on any of my rifles (mostly milsurps), except for the slings, and the only regret is not having bought it much sooner. The only change to be done is to have a shorter trigger pull.

Baz, those are all Canadian sites, they say they dont ship to the US, the ones that I could find anyway....

Not terribly interested since is appears the cost is 150.00. Not to much if I had to do it, but my eyes are still good, and the SKS/s will remain stock (For now)...

Thanks :)

Simply replace the dust cover with a railed one and add a low power scope on it. Make sure you use a compact scope so you can still use stripper clips to load your mag. I also added a slip on recoil pad because the LOP was too short for me.

I would avoid the dust cover scope mounts on the SKS or AK. Jim's might be the best thing since sliced bread but he's the exception that proves the rule.

Proven not to hold zero consistently.

Sent from my mind using ninja telepathy.

The Magwedge scope rail is the best solution I have found for mounting a scope to the SKS. Surprised someone did not market this years ago.

They ship to the USA. Just ordered one.

Most Canadian dealers will ship to the U.S. of they can, they have that message so that Americans don't try to order ammo/firearms from them (which they can't ship). Also, when you think about it, $150 for the mount isn't unreasonable. It keeps zero, doesn't require permanent modification to the SKS, and allows you to remove the dust cover for cleaning without having to re-zero the scope.

They got back with me right away on my order. And its Sunday. No issue shipping this from Canada. Cost $141 US Dollars out the door. Well worth it if it meets my needs.

I am going to mount a ultra low mount peep sight at the very back put a proper scope on it. I'll report back with the results.

I have been using the Tech Site T200 and it has performed flawlessly, just a pita to remove and put back on when cleaning the rifle.

I was going to mount a shotgun scope mount on the sight high enough to use the Tech sites, but this new rail is going to be perfect.

FYI, The rail mount came in today. 16 days from day of order from BC Canada to Houston.

Zero issues with the order or the product. For customs purposes it is listed as an optical accessory.

Bottom-line is that they do ship to the US with no issue.
