Which gun for groomsmen?

You do realize how much weddings cost these days, right? I'm surprised he has enough left over to spend what he wants to limit himself to.

Pot metal rohm model 10 .22 pistols. I bought one for 50.00 once. Hi point would be my choice in your price range if I went with a gun for groomsman.

Reviving this, shaking my head. Not understanding why you'd want to commemorate your wedding with bottom-of-the-barrel guns as gifts. They are cheap because they are junk.

Conversely, you could give top-of-the-line items that are non-guns, as everyone has mentioned.

I think nearly everyone would prefer an excellent widget over a junk doohickey.

If you must get a gun, perhaps a nice ball and cap gun is in your price range.

Examine the revolvers, and if they meet your expectations as far as quality, get 'em.

lots of folks have suggested knives and that's a good suggestion. The heritage .22 revolvers were mentioned as well, those most certainly aren't "junk" they aren't top of the line but the two I have shoot well and are neat.

they usually come in a nice wooden box as well.

for the price point though, a nice knife will get more use than a gun, at least for me, I use my knives every day and I use my leatherman "wave" at least once an hour while I'm awake.

The high end flashlights are also a great idea, lots of folks won't spend money on a nice high end flashlight, but would serve many people well to own one. Could even save the day (or night) sometime...

I've been in tons of weddings, no one has ever given me a gift, guess I have cheap friends

Not sure about the Groomsmen, but the father of the bride customarily carries a shotgun

PS. Even a decent cap and ball revolver replica (which will resolve most of the potential interstate transfer issues) is going to involve low to mid $200s. Why not get a nice knife and have it engraved to commemorate the event.

I'm not sure what they're taste is,but I would say the Rough Rider. The one you pick up for $114. If you could get it locally. Keep in mind shipping and ffl fees will add up.
You may be able to get a deal if you have all engraved with something simple to title it and barely squeeze by at 150 each.

This is a cool idea!! I recall a guy several years ago on a board who discussed getting several JGSales S&W Model 64s for his groomsmen (think he only had @3-4).

How about custom serialized, stripped AR lowers with a couple mags? I'll bet if you called around there would be a couple places that would work a deal for you. It may not have the wow/pop factor of a fully equip revolver/pistol, but if your buddies are enthusiasts and attuned to the current social/legal climate and trends it may be appreciated many levels. Good luck!

With a wedding looming, you're probably busier than a three-legged cat, but if it was me, I'd dig into the Jantz Supply or Texas Knife websites, come up with some blades and handle materials, and go to work. I like the idea of gifts that would are functional, attractive, and have more of that 'personal touch' than just hitting the 'Add To My Cart' button.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather have an inexpensive gun than a pocket watch that didn't work, or even an engraved knife I wouldn't use. And the Heritage Rough Rider I've used is not a bad little gun.

A few months back I bought a Heritage revolver for a young lady as a university graduation gift,,,
You would not believe some of the comments people made about my choice.

"Don't you like her very enough to buy her a good gun"?

Hers shoots to point of aim and feels balanced in her hand,,,
And she out-shot her boyfriend with her pistol,,,
She knows it was an inexpensive gun,,,
But she loves it none-the-less.

Now if they can just find some ammunition.

In reality the box will be put away and probably never used so IMO that's money you don't need to spend. As for grips, they are a personal thing and what you like someone else might not like. That leaves my favorite choice. If I were receiving that gift I would really appreciate the additional cylinder. That will be used and IMO your best choice...
