A-MERC brass

I've seen people ask why it's a bad idea to use A-MERC brass for reloading. I went through a batch of range brass a while back and found these. There were more A-MERC cases, all had some deformation at this area. In case some might be inclined to blame the gun, check the primers, these were fired from two different guns. The one on the right is unmistakably a Glock, the other is not.

Garbage!!!! The primer pockets stretch so much the new primers will fall out, right into garbage if i find some!:barf::barf:
 
Americ is crap. Oh, I forgot to mention, don't us A-merc, it' crap!
 
Don't even save it for a rainy day. Many have off-center flash holes that will break your decapping pin.
 
Amerc and S&B brass goes directly to the recycle/trash bin. Along with small primer pocket 45 ACP.:cuss: Hate that stuff!:banghead:
 
S&B and SPP 45 ACP brass don't belong in the same category as A-MERC.

Big difference between a minor inconvenience and flat out dangerous.
 
I like spp 45 brass because
1) Its free and only about 20 of the 150ish pieces of 45 brass each weekly range trip are spp.
2)it primes waay easier
3)It gives you options if you run out of large pistol primers. small pistol primers? sure! small rifle? have at it! small pistol magnum? pop em on in!
4)I keep a box of spp ammo in my range bag. its loaded with tula srp(copper color) that way If im ever shooting next to another 45 reloader at the range, I can easily spot my brass without question. A sharpie in the range bag to run down the case heads does the trick as well I guess.

Long story short: I like em

I still havent ran across a piece of amerc brass. in the last year I have collected 5,000 38spl, 1,000 357 mag, 1,500 380acp and 2,200 45acp. I have ran across a few tula 45 and 380 pieces of brass. those are cool.

I've never even seen that crap for sale anywhere that I recall. Only found a handful of cases over the years.
 
Still haven't ran across any by me. But I have been recycling S&B lately. Primer pockets are to tight and it takes noticeably more effort to resize. I never have a high volume of it so it's not worth the agrivation.

These A-Merc threads are always so entertaining.:D I have some handgun brass of theirs that I reload that are OK. Must have been a fluke or the brass was made by someone else at first. That newer brass rates right up there with Remington golden duds for me.
 
Amerc brass should disappear soon the company went bankrupt a couple of years ago.
 
I've seen amerc headstamps often enough, but never seen a box labeled AMERC. What label is it sold under? (though to be fair, I haven't bought completed ammo that wan't a 22 in year sand years and years.......)
 
I've been out of the reloading scene for around 10 years. I started reloading again this year, and was having many rejects. I thought I was having problems with my Dillon carbide dies. I took them out of the press, and cleaned them thinking that was the problem.

After reading many posts on A-Merc brass, I decided to investigate why I was having the reloading problems. Over 99% of the rejects I occurred were from A-Merc. I check by placing every cartridge in my Lone Wolf barrel. I have a few A-Merc's that did successfully fit, but now I'm afraid to shoot them. I think I'm just going to pull out the kinetic bullet puller, and cull these things out. Not in my gun! My health is too important to take the chance.:what:
