The rifle feels solid. You can tell there is a little more heft to it with the thicker receiver. I ran about 80 rounds through it today, testing out mags. I used pro mags, tapco, some steel surplus, and the two steel mags that came with it. All fired with no issues. This rifle is a lot of fun to shoot. I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced AK.

I did spend a lot of time cleaning off gunk and metal shavings. The pistol grip will end up getting replaced. Minor issues, IMO. Here are a couple of pictures from when I broke down the rifle for initial cleaning.

I've heard nothing but good things about the O-PAP. At the $600-$700 they sell for, they are probably the best value going these days for a new AK.

The ones with double-headed eagle crest on the stock are especially sweet!

I agree, Fishbed. I was lucky enough to get one of those. The creast is on the right hand side of the stock. I snapped a couple picks after the first coat of tung oil. I need to pull the furniture back off and put on a few more.

I finally got around to uploading my pics after finishing with the tung oil. I'm seriously considering picking up another one of these.
