Well the hornady tumbler I bought some time around 2008 that I ran into the ground finely died its final death last week.
After beating on it for years by polishing un told thousands of casings, for me and a couple other people, polishing socket sets, copper pipe fittings, small bus bars, brass plumbing fittings and really anything that would fit in the blow it gave up.

During the post mortem I found that the bearings and bearing seats have warn out.

The bearing still had a clearly visible part number.

The bearing is metric, a 7mm shaft, 22mm over all diameter and 7mm over all bearing thickness. Bearing from the VXB company, part number 627-2RS replacing the original 627S bearings.
Total cost $16.

They are in the mail and hopefully I can bring the old red shaker back to life.

I forget how much I paid for it. I think it was around $100 in 2008.
Aside from the bearing I don't know what else would fail. The bearings seem to be the weak point.

Got the bearings in and they are the wrong size.
The bearings appear to be 22mm over all wide and 7mm thick but they need to ride on a 1/4'' shaft not a 7mm shaft.

If we can fix them for $15 to $20 who's going to buy a new one?
Save your self $80.

I bought a Lyman Turbo 1200 in about... ah... 1983. In about 2008, the centrifugal weights that cause the vibration action came loose. I gobbed (technical term) a bunch of J.B.Weld on them to hold them in place and it's still running great... :) I can't even comprehend how many hours must be on this thing, as I have it set on a digital timer to run during the night for a couple of hours, when I have cleaning to do. It's fun to try and keep things running rather than throwing them out.

I think I found the correct bearing, only problem is they come in a 10 pack.

Is the shaft worn down to 1/4"? I've been messing around with stuff like bearings for 40 years, and I've never bought one that had mixed metric and SAE dimensions. They might list them in the catalog with both dimensions, but you could tell what it originally was because the metric were whole numbers and the SAE was some dimension you never saw. You probably have the correct part with the 627s, just need to measure the shaft OD and see what you got.

I commend you for fixing it instead of chucking it and buying another. So many people can't understand or perform a repair, so they ALWAYS say buy a new one. They also tend to buy from the mothership in Scottsdale....

Check the yellow pages for a local industrial bearing shop.

We have one in our little city that stocks nearly everything there is.
