CZ special editions

I have never been a fan of their special edition rifles as much as a regular one with a Maple stock. Those maple stocked rifles are gorgeous and more rare than anything else. Every single time I have the money for one, I can't find one. Inevitably, the money goes elsewhere and then I can find one or two. It sucks. LOL!

my .22 hornet brno fox-mod.2(i think the mod# is 680K) made in 1978 is a real shooter with privi factory ammo(3 shot groups 3/4"). my affair with the .22 hornet started with a savage mod 23 at age 18 and moved to a savage 340 years later and then to a ruger 77/22 hornet many years later(it just would not shoot) so it was sold. i do have a ruger#3 in hornet that i bought nib that i have not fired, this fox -2 was traded in at a local friendly small gun shop that knew i was in the market for another .22 hornet. i paid 350.00 for the rifle with 3 magizines and cz scope rings(rings are on a CZ 527 in 762x39). the CZ fox reminds me of the little sako, built to scale for the .22 hornet. eastbank.

I saw one of these recently, wondering if anyone had one. I think it's called the "ebony edition." It's got a funky knurled barrel.

I think those are very new -- haven't seen one offered for sale on GB or other sites yet. They make that ebony version in 527 and the 550 as pictured, and they seem to be very similar to the Americans except with the special woodwork and the funky exterior on the barrel. Also, they are launching the 557 and seem to be indicating that they'll phase out the 550 because the hands-on work associated with building it vs. the more modern, more machine-built methods for the 557.
