Arizona elk draw coming up

Yeah, that was an upleasant increase. Might just do deer and small game this year. Still thinking on it. I got to do three big game hunts last year, dog didn't get near the days afield she usually gets, and wife wasn't too pleased with all my absences.

I'm doing 5B bull, 7W bull unless something changes. My wife is gonna try to draw one of the 7E peaks area antlerless hunts and the rest of my family has 9 late antlerless as their second choice, so I will most likely get to go even if I'm not drawn.

We are putting In for 9 antlerless as well.

As opposed to 5B and 6A as one of your first 2 choices, or as one of choices 3-5?

The late 9 antlerless hunt fills up in the first round so only your first 2 choices have a chance at drawing when it comes to those 3 hunts.

And that late season Unit 9 hunt is COLD!!!

Was definitely a cold hunt last year!

If I get drawn, it will be my first time elk hunting. I'm working through the draw process, figuring out what I want to do. Since I live in unit 7W, and can walk to unit 8 in about 3 minutes, I'm planning on putting in for antlerless hunts there, and maybe 6B antlerless. They had decent draw and success odds last year so we'll see.

Hopefully, along with the deer draw, I'll at least get to hunt something this fall. Well, I guess I'll hunt something, as I will certainly try to get some squirrels and rabbits and I don't need tags for them.

I put in for 9 and 22 early archery in that order. Keeping my fingers crossed. Oh, and I put in for 10 and 3a for antelope
