My first L frame, a 686 no dash along with my first S&W knife, their hollow-handle survival model.

I loves me some L-frame. :D I have 3 686s. Not pictured below is a 686SSR. The other 2 have been tuned a wee bit:

They're nothing fancy but they are functional ;):

I never thought L frames were particularly attractive, until I handled/shot my 586.
Now, I'd like to have a 69 and a 696, but it's not in the cards.

How about a 586 no-dash? I never get tired of sharing this picture, and these maple stocks draw a lot of attention at the range.

Here is mine thanks to my Step Father.

My S&W 2004 'Stocking Dealer Exclusive', a 5" half-lug 686+ (7-shot) equipped from the factory as shown: HiViz front sight, V-notch rear sight, and Ahrends fg cocobolo square conversion grips. Neat package - and new it was $10 less than the 4" standard 686 adjacent to it in the case!

Sadly, the 8-shot 4" 627 Pro came out just months later, relegating the 5" h-l 686+ to the back of my safe. Still, it's my only L-frame .357M - it's a keeper!

I have two other L-frames - a 296 and 696:

The recoil-enhancing service grips weren't on the 296 long...
