I was a customer of Cheaper Than Dirt in the past.
I got the printed catalog in the mid/late 2000s.
I scoffed at the gun owners/2A supporters who railed against CTD for their reported price gouges & poor customer service post-Sandy Hook 2012.
I looked into buying a few products from Cheaper Than Dirt. The prices were great & the items were ready/in stock.
Then, I checked CTD's S/H rates.
This shooting sports firm wants customers to pay nearly double in S/H than what the items are worth! Outrageous! The site expects customers to pay different S/H rates for each item. A $8.99 Otis Ripcord cleaner requires a $10.00 fee.
A $19.99 Blackhawk Sportster Holster adds a $10.00 S/H fee.
To be clear(because I checked), this is not a added air or express rate, this is regular ground(basic) S/H.
I'm now behind the anti-CTD crowd. I don't know what their execs are thinking or how they plan to stay open but I'm not spending $36.00 in ground S/H for $40.00 in merchandise.
RS
PS; I did buy a few things from www.MidwayUSA.com . They lowered S/H & give customers choices. The owner/CEO Larry Potterfield must want repeat customers or to make profits. BTW; my S/H total was $3.99.
