AR-15 Bolts

Any billet lower is going to be costly because of the amount of machining and waste. Typical inexpensive raw forgings can't be used because the available .45 SMG magazines are too wide, almost as wide as the lower itself.

Zach, in that case, would an AR lower with a wider area to accommodate grease gun magazines, but also be able to accommodate regular AR magazines still work?

The CAV-15 polymer lower accepted both (GG mags required an adapter), but due to the inability to change the stock or grip, I never looked further into them. Another downside is that it required a really heavy buffer to keep the lower from cracking, so heavy it had to be swapped out when going back to 5.56. Its the only lower I know of that would accept both magazines. I dont think Cav Arms is a manufacturer anymore, but I seem to recall someone else producing them. Google "CAV-15 MKII."

I have a CNC Guns lower, cost a little more than Baz Bros, but uses unmodified grease gun mags. I dont think Justin is a manufacturer, so you'd have to buy the 80% from him, then someone else would have to do the other 20%. When I was keeping track, he had a reputable manufacturer lined up.

The dedicated .45 lowers I've seen (Bazooka Brothers, CNC Guns), are grease gun mags only.

MGI(?) offered modular lowers with interchangeable magwells, but were as expensive as Baz Bros and CNC Guns, of not more expensive.

I have been away from .45 AR discussions for a while due to limited internet access, so my information may be a little dated...

I went with a CNC guns lower. Standard furniture, uses unmodified mags. Cav didn't appeal to me, and since I don't have homeless uppers, the cost and modularity of MGI didnt appeal to me either.

I was planning on manufacturing my own actually.
