Interesting idea from Mule Tactical; a Glock in a gun stock. Does anyone see any practical use beyond the novelty of it?

It's much faster to transition from an AR to your pistol if your pistol is in a holster...

I'm sure a couple of those stocks will sell, but IMO, they're absolutely useless.

Ok. That's cool.

Totally unnecessary and has a lot of drawbacks, and the instances where it would be a better idea than other ways of keeping a sidearm available, but for sheer gear-geek nifty-ness, yup, that's got "win" all over it. :)

It'll sell...

Seems like a great way to shoot your gun and/or free hand (are you just supposed to drop the long gun, or something?)

If you want to be armed with both a pistol and a rifle why would you want both weapons in the same package?

Like so much tacticool gear, it seems like a pointless solution to a nonexistent problem.

Very 007-ish. It might save you a fraction of a second transitioning to handgun when the AR runs dry. But that is in fantasy land. I can see this being featured in a movie and then selling like crazy to the masses. A cool thing to have but not much use unless you want to save a little space in your safe.

Serious question.
Let's say you have a spent cartridge stuck in the rifle's chamber and then have cause to bang the buttstock into the ground to get it out. Or the buttstock bangs the ground anyway.
If you have a handgun in there without a firing pin block safety mechanism (1911?) wouldn't you have a chance of a pretty dicey discharge if a live round was in the handgun chamber?

I fixed the link to the article so it works now.

The article says it's designed to carry a compact Glock or S&W M&P pistol. The Glock is striker fired. I assume the M&P is as well but I'm not familiar with it.

That said, I wouldn't buy one although I would have to check it out on display just for the novelty of it. However, I could see a younger segment of gun owners buying them.

Now that really really needs to have "Mattell" stamped on it. Imagine how many "accidental" discharges we'll see from ninjas trying to transition to their "stock Glock" while in a hurry.

I kinda like the way that AR is set up. The big round shiney thing on the right side - is that one of those new solor assault popcorn poppers ?

I can see this selling like freeze-dried hotcakes to people to put in BOL or BOB or GHB or LOL bags or SHTF kits or ROFL kits....

... it's nice because your weapons are all in one place, it's not nice because your weapons are all in one place. What's that about eggs in one basket??

You all are missing the point. When you're in the shower with your AR15 with the StockGlock (AR15/SG for short!) and suddenly a ninja climbs through your window and throws open the shower curtain while grabbing the barrel of the AR15, now you can summarily draw the SG and dispatch the intruder before returning to your soggy cookie.

It's filling a real gap in the market if you ask me! :neener:

My first thought was for a truck gun/SHTF type rifle. Not so much you would use the AR then transition to the Glock while shooting, but you could have 2 guns in 1 package for storage, SHTF, grab 1 thing and move out.

Still, very niche limited utility, Glock could just be packed in a small BOB with the AR strapped to it...

I have a hard time thinking they'll sell many of these, but then I doubt I think like the demographic they are targeting.

Couple this with the under-barrel Glock mount and attach a pistol bayonet to that Glock and the universe will finally implode on itself from the sheer awesomeness.
