Anyone have any experience with these?

It looks like I'm getting a free safe from work that I'm converting to gun storage. It is not an ideal setup, but the use of rifle rods would help with the storage. I am having a hard time overcoming sticking something other than a cleaning rid down the bite of my guns.

Thanks,

Steve.

I tried them and didn't like them. I found that if they protrude from the muzzle by more than a few inches, the plastic bends. So I made a little "sub-floor" in my safe to raise some of my shorter rifles. That worked for a short time before I realized that I'd need several sub-floors to get the muzzles closer to the upper shelf where the velcro is attached. There's a great variety of rifle lengths!

I still think it's a good idea, but the rods should be made of either wood or fiberglass, not plastic.

Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get some hardwood dowel rods. They will not hurt the bore of any rifle and you can use some tape or O rings as a stop to keep them from sliding all the way down the bore. Cheap, easy to use ,and replaceable.:)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I have to get this 1200 lb behemoth home first.

I'm using them and like them. I did have to make a wood bench to raise my ARs.
