Hi all!
I finally got around to shooting my new Desert Eagle yesterday! I’ve had the beast since December, but haven’t had the chance to shoot it until yesterday.
DAMN, is that thing FUN to shoot!!!
The DE is a gun that I simply enjoy owning. Over the last few months I fondle it occasionally and have cleaned it twice or so, and it just puts a huge grin on my face every time I do.
Well, shooting it is even more fun!
It functioned flawlessly except for I think two times when it didn’t feed properly, but I’m 99% sure that was due to limpwristing on my part.
The recoil is surprisingly negligible. It is far more pleasant to shoot than my G27 in .40. The DE just gives you a big, rather gentle push. Very manageable gun. (Mine is a .44, BTW. I’m planning on getting the .50 barrel at some point.)
Overall, it is an incredible firearm. It truly is an extremely high-quality firearm, is instantly recognizable, and the cool factor is, IMO, off the scale. Add the fact that it’s a joy to shoot, and you have a damn fine firearm overall.
If you are considering purchasing one, definitely go for it!
One potential issue that I noticed is that the spent brass was a bit bulged. I started another thread on that here:
Otherwise, it was a blast, and there are lots of cool pics below! This first picture shows the target I used the first time I fired my Desert Eagle. I thought it was a very fitting way to break in a new gun.
Enjoy!
