There have been a couple of threads regarding Nikon scopes. It seems that Nikon has revamped their lineup for 2015. Can someone give me the breakdown of the lineup from low to high? I am a little confused by the naming and pricing right now.

The changes were done to try and make it easier for the consumer to figure out where an item fall's in the Nikon riflescope line.
PROSTAFF
PROSTAFF 5
PROSTAFF 7
MONARCH 3
MONARCH 5
MONARCH 7

The M-223 Series scope's are built with top of the line Nikon glass and coating's,P-223 is the PROSTAFF glass and coating's. NIkon has also gone to great length's to really get their No Fault Warranty out to the public too. I do freelance PR/Shooting Event's for Nikon and I can assure you that Nikon's is working hard to get consumer's what they want.
Here's a 30 sec. video showing consumer's what Nikon's warranty is all about.

Well, they also get into AR scopes which may or may not belong in another category, I think.

That said, the only Nikon scope I've been less than thrilled with is the P-300 BLK. That circle in the crosshairs is all wrong at the right range and magnification level. Then again, my expectations at $200 for the scope were met I suppose.

If they did it to make it easier to figure out where they fit in their lineup I think they failed. Why would you take the middle grade scope and make it the economy scope and keep the same name.

I believe the Buckmaster line was changed to the Prostaff 5 or 7, about a year or 2 ago. Apparently, they brought it back as a budget scope. That is where all the confusion is. At least it was for me.

FWIW, I have two of their M-233 scopes and, for the money they are outstanding. I could't ask for more. I also have one (2-9x?) for my .22LR which is a great scope.
I am about to purchase a semi-auto .308 and their .308 calibrated M-series is pretty limited so I'm not sure I'lll stick with them for that one.

I hate it when companies do crap like that. They never seem to get that most people have no idea that they changed things. Because it is all they do it may make sense to them but who has time to research all the model changes over the years for all the different brands.
Screw them, I will buy Leupold . Always makes sense and always good.

I looked at SWFA and the Buckmaster was listed as "Buckmaster II" now. At least they added the II to it.

But yes, it will confuse/frustrate people and may cost them some business in the short term.
