If you start to lose the appeal for hunting, take a break.
I started doing guided fishing charters almost a year ago and in that year I have hunted maybe 3 half days. I was starting to lose the appeal for hunting all together. Too much work, clearing lanes, filling feeders, cleaning gear...
You would be suprised at how often this occurs within our own borders and politcians for little things in the military.
My last 3 years of service in the Marines was at the Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch and many parts were accepted simply because the vendor provided campaign contributions to...
Let's see....., .233, 5.56, 30-30, .308, 12 gauge slug, .45 ACP, 9mm, .357 Magnum and even .22.
Size? Any where from 100 lbs up to 300 but most are in the 100-200 range.
A "Protected by Smith and Wesson" sticker is about as much advertisement for a vehicle full of guns as a "Baby on Board" sticker is for a car full or rapists...
You shouldn't need a backup firearm for hog hunting. I do carry my 1911 with me but the only time I use it is if I feel like shooting them with that instead of my rifle.
As for .45 not penetrating a hog...tell that to the picture.
The EMP was originally supposed to be chambered in .45 GAP until Springfield screwed it up.
And as usual, when the .45 GAP is mentioned, people talk out their butts because their heads haven't a clue.
For starters Gaston had nothing to do with the GAP. Glock tasked Speer with creating a...
Just because sweat contains salt doesn't make saltwater and sweat remotely close to being the same thing.
There are tons of other things in your sweat that will wreck metal long before the salt starts to.

You can use an atlatl in MO?!?! That's just plain awesome.
FYI, in Florida you can use lesser weapons during the greater weapon season, ie, you can use your bow through archery, muzzleloader and general gun and you can use your muzzleloader through general gun.
The only gotcha...
I hunt with a license but use one implement throughout all the seasons. I use a bow, which is legal in Florida.
My only complaint is that I have to purchase a muzzleloader stamp in order to use my bow during muzzleloader...
What I don't understand is the big gaping hole on the top of the slide. They tried that crap on the ported first gen XDs and it went over like a fart in church. Lot of cracked slides...
That was simply awesome.
As for attacking people, we have a small oak grove next to our county building that borders the sidewalk down the main street. There is a sign as you enter the grove along the sidewalk that says "Danger! Nesting hawks will attack".
I gotta go get a picture of it...
It's no difference than anything else. Ignorance powers the train. People still think that crossbows are so much faster and more deadly than bows when in truth it's hard to find crossbows that are faster than today's compounds.
But this same hatred and ignorance happened years ago when...
If you do a lot of camping, fishing or hunting then a Yeti is a good investment. If you're just a weekend warrior then it's probably too expensive for you.
They aren't for everyone, but those that need them, love them.
It's not just the coolers ability to keep ice and keep things cool. They're also tough. I've had mine for a year and a half and that is saying a whole lot for me.
Like I said, my clients use it as a casting platform and so do I. So with me, thats 270 lbs standing on the top of an ice chest...
