If a .22 rifle is all you have, make it work for you. Its obviously not the first or best choice, but having a gun ready is better than none at all.
That said, even for those on a extreme budget there is the New England firearms line of single shot shotguns. I have seen them as cheap as 40...
I wear shirts and ties to work every day and I use two semi- dress leather belts and have a third dress belt for wear with suits. I alternate monday through friday with beltman 1 1/4 black leather/nickel and a 1 1/4 brown horsehide/brass belt. I have received many compliments on both of...
I prefer the hipower and already own two. You cant go wrong with either one. Neither of my two hipowers needed work out of the box(though I do want to get work done on them). I took the magazine (un)safety out of each and they both have sweet triggers now.
I prefer standard pressure 9mm rounds, and use the Winchester white box personal protection 147gr as my load of choice. It has good penetration and expansion, is easy to control, is cheap enough that I practice with it, and functions well in all my pistols.
Midway USA is top notch. The vast majority of my online shooting purchases are from Midway, Brownell's and Aim Surplus. Midway and Brownell's both offer real nice dealer deals for c&r licenses. I can highly recommend them.
It is my understanding with the Gibbs hack job conversions, that the flash hider was obviously loose even before firing it. The flash hider launching itself downrange was a concern of mine and I specifically asked Aim about that, and was informed it was securely attached. If it isnt securely...
I received a email about a new arrival at AIM Surplus. I didn't think much of it, since I wasn't really in the market for any new milsurps (yeah right, c&r is a major addiction). To my surprise, it was a enfield I didnt even know I needed :cool...
I voted Speer GDHP 135gr +p. I am using that in both my 642 and my 3" model 10 bedside gun. Prior to that I really liked the winchester 130gr as it has a really large cavity in the hollow point.
That said, Im really interested by those two new standard pressure Buffalo Bore loads if the...
I had it happen with some hollowpoints and some lighter grain fmj. I started shooting the Fiochi 73gr and haven't had it happen since(knocks on wood).
I think with the longer fmj as long as your carefully loading it you wont have problems.
I went with both a .32 semi and a j-frame for pocket carry. I have a kel-tec .32 that i use for deep concealment days, running or if Im wearing a suit, and i wear my j-frame 642 the other 99.9% of the time. I can conceal the j-frame in everything from casual shorts to my work attire of...
Its real easy to switch out, Lee has some good step by step instructions here: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=238015
I ordered my 870 replacement safety from Midway(part 873374) and it took me less than 15 minutes to install on both my 870's and most of that was fiddling with the...
I would check out the Georgia Arms 110gr softpoint for the m1 carbines. It has a good price, and a great reputation. Ive been using them in my carbine the last few years.
Im interested, and I have a NRA membership
Im interested in attending, and I have a NRA membership. Im trying to talk my brother into it to, which would add two memberships, but for now Im only confirming myself.
Besides autos, are any of the s&w I-frames a possibility for c&r? I know they were made between late 1890s and post wwII. One of those would be real nice for the pocket, and theres a good discussion right now about them in the revolver forum.
I am wearing the same watch that I mentioned in my post two years ago this month. My casio g-shock still looks real nice, still holds its solar charge, and still keeps atomic time. I continue to get nice compliments on it, and I cant believe the watch is over two years old.
My brother has...
Nice thread idea Steve, I like it.
Since I joined THR, Ive bought more guns, got pickier on guns I wanted(no locks), discovered I love taking firearms training, acquired a c&r, met some great people on the net and in real life, ets'd from the military, graduated with my IT degree, finished my...
Have a great time!
Well behave while your gone. Well, well behave, and well try to keep sm iin line, thats probally more accurate.
Seriously though, have fun!
I think a lot of people are missing or twisting Lawdogs point. He’s not saying that these options are better than a firearm, he is saying that just because you dont have a firearm it doesn’t mean your defenseless. I carry all the time, but I had to stow the ccw many times because I was going...
