usp9, that looks one of the Japanese police overruns, with the manual safety and the decocker. They are indeed sweethearts.
I had a couple .380 versions some years ago, and found them more pleasant to shoot than the Walther, but still not fun.
I've finally parted with all the blowback .380s...
Guessing they thought, "Going 9mm, in for a penny, in for a pound"? In order to stay subsonic, 147s would be the order of the day.
Does seem pricey; the Mirochesters aren't that dear.

Kind of my thought, although longer barreled traditional lever guns can exceed 10 round capacity, and I thought the restriction applied to detachable magazines.
You may well be right, or they are just getting out ahead of things.
How long is the lever throw?

Not going to quibble on that count; there simply are no new Winchesters, regardless of where the current ones might be made. Most of us aren't blessed with Driftwood's limitless supply of shootable originals. :)
But the mechanism of both the '73 and the '94 are mighty interesting, especially...
I posted elsewhere here about this,, before finding this thread.
Adcoch has it figured out; cheap centerfire ammo to run through a traditional rifle. Whether it appeals to traditionalists is another question.
If this uses a full-diameter barrel, it (and the longer '73 action) will make one...
Saw a blurb today that Taylor will be making a '73 in 9mm.
Among the things claimed:
-entirely domestically made
-ten round capacity
-color case finish
Unmentioned was price, lever throw (for the short 9mm case), and why the 10 round capacity.
It sounds an interesting idea, however unoriginal a...
Yes, Craig has nice stuff, and photos it really well.
Labeling ammo boxes always felt like a writing assignment; I originally made labels on the ditto machine at work, and cut them up/pasted them on. Then I'd write out the data, again and again.
Then, some years ago, I got a P-touch label maker...
I have some light loads for a 325, which is a rorty handful with full house ball. (How anyone tolerates full house loads in a 329....) In any case, the 325 loads are put up in ARs.
As mentioned in another thread, inventory can be a pain. My .45 ACPs are all loaded with 4.6/B'eye/230, just...
Your shelves show another danger in too much diversity in inventory; keeping track and storing it. I've got a steel card file that is the right height for ammo boxes, but sometimes it gets pretty full.
I've resolved not to add any more calibers for that reason, plus I don't have the time to...
Mosin, hadn't really considered detail stripping for cleaning, a moot point for me. Doubt the '92 will ever see a detail strip; it's easy enough to clean from the muzzle with a rod guide.
I had a '94 in .45 Colt, an angle eject Winchester. It was just clunky with pistol cartridges. The '92 is...
I have its twin, in .44 Mag. Had mine whacked to 16", and its been my 'deer rifle' all the time I've hunted. It took a pile of deer, and I never had to track a one. They were DRT.
That '73 is flat gorgeous, and a tip 'o the hat for really taking it afield and taking game with it. The period...
Stick with the big Colt. I have three .44 Mags, to revos and a '94 Marlin. The revos get downloaded (one is a Mountain Gun), simply because my recoil enthusiasm isn't what it once was. Perfect honesty, my 1400'sec loads (revo) and 1600 (carbine) were strictly hunting loads, and got shot for...
Memory, being what it is at more than 60 years distance, was that they weren't all that tough to thumb back. But that may be just bad recollections, and the springs may have been a little tired.
There has to be a reason the design wasn't adapted by other makers, and your suggestions may have...
It's my impression that this is the route favored by gunmakers.
Current Ft. Smith PPK production is entirely stainless, the 'blued' versions simply covered with some high zoot coating.

A buddy's M60 (an older one, with the flashchromed forged internals) survived a real drenching in a drawer under a roof leak. I got on his ass about it, and he let me detail strip it. No problems.
I had another M60 3" that would develop surface rust. Go figure
A buddy stored his Security Six...
