Does anyone know if the DE XIX 44 Mag barrel is chrome-lined or not? I was looking at the crown end of the barrel, and the bore looked very dark (not silvery). But again, I heard that all desert eagles are chrome-lined. Can anyone confirm?
Thx.

Yeah, I was gonna try that. Btw, that shot from the hornady group was the 5th shot, and it was because I was rushed because the range was about to go cold.
Actually, I went back to all my groups with other rifles shooting Igman M118, there are consistent 1.5 - 2.0 MOA fliers, which I could not quite explain.. My own take is that by feeding with bolt release pressed, the 1st round may be bent a little bit during feeding, hence causing the flier...
jpwilly, thanks! I avoided cleaning the barrel at all for the 1st 40 rounds. I am with the Gale McMillan's school of thought. No no cleaning between groups. And order of the groups are listed from top to bottom with Hornady being the last group.
Picture of the groupings is posted here:

Range report:
Rifle: New DPMS LRT-SASS 7.62 x 51 upper, CMMG Lower, 1/10 twist, 18-inch bull fluted, stainless blackened factory barrel, Magpul precision stock.
Scope: Super-Sniper 15 x fixed power with...
The achille's heel for FAL in terms of accuracy is the way the upper and lower receivers are mated together. The scope is mounted to the upper receiver cover (which should have aftermarket screws to secure it onto the upper receiver). However, the cheek weld/stock is linked to the lower...
the serial number should be on the receiver above the chamber. If it reads AWXXXX it is a AW series, which is known to have feeding issues with tar-sealed surplus.
You have to indicate if it is a AW series rifle made by PTR91.Inc or by its predecessor, i.e. year of manufacture. You can get a brand new one from CDNN for under $1000 + FFL + Shipping. You should be asking for $800.
TexasRifleman, may I ask you this:
What "agenda" of mine were you referring to?
Was it my "agenda" to belittle high-end optics? Or was it my "agenda" to promote Supersniper fixed power scope?
If those were the presumed "agenda" of mine from your perspective, then please allow me to...
Ranb, how did you break your Supersniper? Did the reticle move upon recoil? or did something else happen to it? Please let me know.
TexasRifleman, isn't THR a forum where people share their personal opinions regarding firearms? If you want to spend $3000 on a scope for semiautos, that is...
I need 1/6 MOA adjustment because my handloads would vary from batch to batch, it is not a feature but a necessity for me.
Such difference is not noticeable in any semiautos though.
there is minimal wear on the bolt itself, all the wear and tear are on the rollers, and once you replace the rollers, the headspace is back within specs.
Texasrifleman, for my bolt gun, I need 1/6 MOA adjustment since I am getting subMOA, and this requires a Nightforce where as my supersniper does only 1/4 MOA adjustment. That is the reason.
I am rising a hypothetical question: if someone does not own a bolt rifle, does owning a fine glass...
TexasRifleman, my questions is: if one does not have a bolt gun, why would you put a $2000 scope on a semiauto rifle when a $300 scope would do the job just as well?
So far, I have not encountered a semiauto that can do subMOA consistently as a bolt gun... that includes AR-10, LR308, M1A, and PTR91 MSG90. I have not had the pleasure of shooting a polygonal barreled PSG1 though... :(
I was wondering about this and I would appreciate other's feedback:
Given the TRUE accuracy of semi-auto rifles (i.e. excluding PSG1 and such, excluding advertising which claims consistent SubMOA and such), with the average group being approximately 1 - 2 MOA, why would people put expensive...
DPMS mags are horrible... period. My rifle won't fire 3 rounds without having a FTF or have severely bent my round that it flies off 7 MOA to the right. I switched to Cmag mags, and problem solved. Magpul now has a version for DPMS, not AR-10.
