If it's short stroking, make sure you're using good ammo, and double check that the carrier key is tightened down, and that it's staked down properly...that can be a problem. If that's not it, by all means send it back. Smith has GREAT CS and will take care of it. With good ammo, an AR should...

They do produce the R1 action (the action this gun is based off of) in some hefty cartridges, but I doubt one will ever make its way to this concept. Beretta doesn't seem interested in making this gun successful here.

I wouldn't trade an AR for one if I only had 1 gun to trade. It looks like an interesting rifle and I'd love to get my hands on one, but my AR is a proven commodity, and one that I shoot extremely well. I have a hard time finding fault with any of mine.

Rather than replace your barrel, pay the $200 tax stamp and have the 5.5" FH taken off and thread that baby at 11.5". SBR's are handy, and 11.5 is still a good weapon for CQB.

Ballistically, pistols are terrible replacements for a rifle. An AR holds more ammo, is more lethal, is more accurate, is more adaptable, can be used as a club if all else fails, etc. BTW, navigating through your house is a terrible idea, unless you have no other option. Take a carbine...

AR180 is the easiest to clean .223 there is, IMHO....but I still prefer the AR15 for a whole myriad of reasons. Easy to maintain, doesn't need to be either.

If you buy used, you can do it easily....just takes patience. I put an M16A1 clone together for $385 buying used, and my SBR only cost $450 before the tax stamp.
