I bought a Kimber Custom Classic at a gun show a couple of years back and really like it. It has been super reliable and very accurate. One of my friends wants to buy a Kimber but I see that the Custom II is what is available new.
I would like to better understand the differences between the...
Browning was brilliant. A LW Combat Commander was my first pistol in 1975, bought a Kimber Custom Classic a year ago. My dad wanted a new pistol and asked me what I would like to inherit...Kimber Tactical Pro.
I own a LOT of pistols and it's hard to beat how a 1911 fits in your hand.
My wife picked a G26 for her carry weapon after shooting several other models. She shoots it better than most of my other pistols. She actually shoots my S&W 325pd .45acp revolver better...but likes the Glock better for carry.
I don't reload with lead bullets for two reasons.
1. My range won't allow their use.
2. Big reason, health issues.
Lead is a persistent poison. You have to be VERY careful when handling it. I might be a little sensitive because my mother used to do stained glass (which uses soft lead). She...
My first was a Colt Model 70 Lightweight Combat Commander. I carried it while working in the ghetto. I was a young buck back then and the Gun store owner was pushing .38 Super...but my father always was a .45ACP guy and that's what I got. Served me well for years. My daughters learned to...
I bought a Kimber Custom Classic at a gun show and have been very pleased with it. I have put several 1000 rounds through it and have not had a failure. Just for drill, I put 1000 rounds through it without cleaning. Never had a failure. I finally cleaned it (mostly because I like to keep my...
I think the 10mm has a place as a bush gun. I have two, S&W 610 with a 6 inch barrel and a S&W 610-3 with a 4 inch barrel. I'm a reloader, so not worried much about getting loads...but getting brass was an issue. I ended up getting 500 rounds of BVAC 10mm for $190 at a gun show. Might get...
I love my N-Frames. I carry the S&W 325pd quite often (28 ozs loaded), but the S&W 610s are for carrying in the bush. All of them are deadly accurate...much more accurate than me.
S&W325pd
S&W 625-6 (.45 Long Colt)
S&W 610 (6 inch) and S&W 610-3 (4 inch)
I've shot .40SW from my Glock for years. I have had failures to fire, but only with reloads with Wolf Primers (bought during the drought) or ones before I religiously checked primer seating. I have NEVER had a problem with factory or commercial self-defense ammo.
My wife wanted a pistol, has a CCL and has shot and so I let her pick one out. Big mistake. She picked a KelTec P32 because it was small.
I had her take a woman's pistol/self defense course (taught by a woman) where she learned a lot and shot many different handguns. We just got her a G26...
If there was just one situation and a lot of empirical and scientific evidence; there would be but one pistol and one caliber. That isn't the case. I like Glocks, have several, but you already have a G23 so I'd keep the GP100. It looks like a nice revolver and I have many of them as well.
I'd have to say a Colt Pony .380, KelTec P32 are in a tie for first. The S&W Sigma was third (but much better than the previous two). The Colt Pony had a HORRIBLE trigger pull and was not very accurate...but was reliable. The P32 trigger pull was slightly better, but accuracy beyond 15 feet...
I have a Glock 23C (compensated) and my daughter has a vanilla G23. It's hard to tell the difference for me. The best thing about the 23C is that I told me daughters (when teaching them to shoot) that if they didn't see the flame out the top...they had their eyes closed. They told me that was...
Yes, when my daughters were growing up, shooting combat pistols was our joint hobby. They got very good, but were shooting me poor. I've done about 20,000 rounds and my wife thinks that I like reloading and cleaning my guns more than shooting them (not true).
Here is their high school...
