    how light with a 9mm?

Thanks for the load ideas. I'm looking for a "tweener" load for shooters moving up from a 22. I was going to look for a smaller cartridge but then asked myself - why not grab a set of dies and a spring.

Are the 90-100gr bullets worth a try?

    how light with a 9mm?

How light can you load 9mm? I tried the search and noticed the post focused on using the original spring. If a guy was willing to swap springs, how light could he go? Any loads that still fill over half the case?

    Redfield Scopes

Low end, top end, all made in the same place. ( the green ring line of binos is another story ) Just looking at specs, the Redfield looks akin to VX-I glass in a Rifleman body with 1/4" clickers and a better price. I plan on giving one a try.

    Tikka T-3 Lite

Doesn't the shroud play a role in gas control on some guns ?;) Add me to the camp that can't get excited about a tikka. Good grief even Marlin can build an accurate, good trigger, light weight, less plastic bolt gun and sell it for $100-$200 cheaper to boot.

I'll throw another vote for the 260. The next step up from the 243.

    The 30-30

I still lean towards the lever 30-30 for an affordable hunting rifle. The new cheap bolt guns lack sights and need a scope. more $$$$ The mosin and sks fall behind due to the cost of and lack of hunting ammo. GOOD hunting ammo, not the cheap junk. At normal prices, the 30-30 tends to be a...

A tip for others that may bump into a misbehaving Howa, check that the front action screw is tight and the mag box isn't in a bind.;)

    MIM Gun Parts?

QUOTE: "A lot of people seem to fear new technology. It might be ignorance, or the "back in my day" mentality. " Or they might prefer the best parts that can be built. Just because something is new doesn't mean it's better. MIM is a cost cutting measure that still keeps "most"...

    Lever Rifles: Winchester, Marlin, Mossberg

I like both the Marlin and Win. 94 but would pick the Marlin if I could only have one. I'm another that has yet to see the Mossy.

Is the .41 Magnum fading away?

I have no doubt that the higher ammo prices have more people looking into and starting reloading. Even at that, I still see more factory fodder burned than handloads.

Is the .41 Magnum fading away?

True but how many shooters reload? The reputation of being a "reloaders cartridge" is part of the 41 mags downfall.

Is the .41 Magnum fading away?

The intoduction of a 41 special would help the 41 mag. survival. Way overdue.

E-mailed Smith & Wesson this evening...

Don't like opposing opinions eh? You believe the liability excuse. Your choice. I don't believe it. My choice. I'm a curious fellow and when I run into something that makes no sense,I like to mull it over a little looking for some kind of reasoning. A big company giving the cold shoulder to...
